Help! Can I find the Cert Code from the VIN?

Just out of curiosity, are you a refugee from some other make/model that regularly uses the term "cert code"? :p

...and you can even get an exact reproduction door tag to go along with it, stamped and all.

Help! Can I find the Cert Code from the VIN?

Maybe it's early and maybe it's the head cold, but I don't know what you mean by "cert code". From the VIN you can learn year, assembly plant, body style, engine code, and consecutive unit number. The VIN on the inner apron on the driver's side is the "official" VIN on a '67 Mustang...

T5 Spacer or T5 Bellhousing Swap?

If you've already got a good clutch and bellhousing and are happy with your clutch linkage, headers, etc. then there's no reason to switch to a T-5 bellhousing.

    EFI on '72 Mach 1

Forgot to address this part... The VSS input is pretty important on an automatic car. You can get a factory sending unit that has both the 2-pin connector for the ECU and a cable pass-through for your speedo that'll plug right into your C4. I'll have them here soon and I'm sure you can find...

    EFI on '72 Mach 1

I usually mount them above the driver's side kick panel. I don't know what's there on a 71-3 off the top of my head though. On a 67-8 I eliminate the fresh air vent over there to make room for other stuff so there's lots of room.

    EFI on '72 Mach 1

There are always A9L computers on eBay for cheap. Email me if you're interested in a new harness -- I've got great plug-and-play ones.

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

Just an update on the sale of the car: Apparently they ended the auction early because they made a deal via other channels for somewhere in the low 6 figure range. The car may be headed out here to the west coast, which I'd certainly like. It would be nice to be able to see it again and...

    Another quick windshield install question

I've always done the windshield first, then the dash pad. Yes, the screw-on trim pieces go on last. However, it's a good idea to pre-install the dash pad and trim before the windshield, as you will need to do some trimming and it's a lot easier to see, mark, and trim without the windshield...

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

It certainly doesn't hurt. I'd like to see the car getting driven into the ground as well, but every time it pops up on the radar like this it gets my name out there a little bit more. I'm bound and determined to stay small as well, so I only need one or maybe two customers at a time for car...

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

When I spoke with Retrotek he said he had a die cast version on the way in early 2008. If you read their site they actually do have port systems as well. The PP thing has to be a cooperative private label deal.

Has anyone seen info on a late model IFS swap into a classic stang?

There are tons of interesting choices out there and each pretty much has its place. I had a good experience with the RRS kit on the blue '68 fastback, and the kits are much nicer now than that one was -- namely, you can adjust ride height independently of spring preload. If you're starting...

Has anyone seen info on a late model IFS swap into a classic stang?

You're not finding much info about it on the Google because there's really no good reason to do it. It's a lot of trouble without much return. You can absolutely do an aftermarket coilover and R&P swap that'll crush the new stuff. Many here will argue, with merit, that you can do better...

    New TCP Catalog/Products

You've gone so far with the front suspension that the difference up there won't be drastic, but it would be nice to gain the adjustability. Probably not worth chucking all of those high-end parts. IMO, you'd get a lot out of the rack & pinion. More positive feel with better feedback and...

Question for the experts 200 6cyl

Glad you found the problem -- a vacuum leak will do that to you! If you're talking about the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake, that's the PCV line. It basically evacuates gases that build up in the crankcase back into the intake stream to get rid of them. Enjoy your 6-banger...
