Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

True. Don't let the fact escape though that it is indeed a returnless fuel system -- less plumbing, less noise, longer pump life. Butt ugly. I know this is totally secondary to function, but one of the cool things about the Retrotek system is that it is so stealth. It appears people are...

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

Well, you wouldn't be able to see that with an air cleaner on anyway. There's stealth, and then there's super-stealth!

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

Yeah, he told me that it's 8-10 weeks right now. Also, they're coming out with a cast body soon that will knock somewhere around $300 off the price.

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

Well check this out. I just talked to Mark at Retrotek and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He said that they converted a Mopar to this system on Horsepower TV and they left the factory mechanical pump on there, mounting the electric pump between the mechanical one and the throttle body...

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

Well, yeah you could build the whole fuel system in a way like you were planning on the EFI failing. I was just saying that it would be cool to be able to self-rescue with a quick trip to any auto parts store.

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

For a second there I thought I had found a great advantage to the Retrotek system -- if it craps out on you somewhere far from home you could simply grab a carb from any auto parts store, pop it on, and go. Then I realized that you'd have a high-pressure fuel system in place. Anyone know of a...

    T5 swap questions about parts

I've been happy with the Ron Morris cable clutch as well. I've installed and driven it in three cars. I don't know why a trans crossmember has to be super beefy. It doesn't really do anything but hang the transmission. All of the drivetrain torque is reacted by the motor mounts, where...

    T5 swap questions about parts

I've always used the Ron Morris crossmembers with great results. Lots of exhaust clearance as well. IMO, with 300 fwhp the T5Z will last forever unless you're really thrashing it hard. I run them with 350hp/350tq without a care in the world. It is a good idea to put a nice shifter on there...

Thoughts on the new CPP front suspension?

Good for them -- that's why you test, test, test. It's the only way to catch things like that.

Shelby vs. SAAC!!! Wait 'till you read this...

Agreed, but there's a way to do it without alienating your fans and screwing those who helped bring you to that position in the first place. Look at Foose -- nobody could argue that he's not milking his current position for everything it's worth, but he's going about it in a dignified way.

Here's the next slap in the face -- apparently Ol' Shel has come up with the idea that it would be cool if there were a club out there dedicated to his cars!   "This is MY club and we're going to have some real fun.....Shelby style!" Carroll Shelby. The...

I've got to say that this has turned into the most thoroughly-informative thread about the actual title topic that I've seen in a long time. :nice: :nice: :nice:

I'm aware of the $6k part, but please elaborate on your other statement.

Anybody heard anything about this carb style EFI?

I've been checking out the stack injection system from Dynatek. They make the exact claim about a "self-tuning" ECU. It would arguably be the coolest-looking thing ever, but it's $6k. :( http://www.dynatekracing.com/fuelinjection.htm

    synthetic oil in sbf

I tried to quit responding to your "statements of fact" but I got drawn in again... Same viscosity. Tested under nearly-identical conditions over the exact same route at the same average speed at 2500+ miles for each. On my way from my rocket scientist job at the NASA Jet Propulsion...

    synthetic oil in sbf

I understand what you're saying, but it was basically a sudden change when I changed the oil, tested over identical long-term conditions. Basically, I drove from LA to Florida, changed to Amsoil, and drove back. 2500+ miles each way, similar weather, same average speed, etc. Also, I've...
