IS THIS WORTH FIXING & HOW HARD IS IT?

:stupid: How much do you like this car? Sounds to me like it will be cheaper and a whole lot easier to replace the vehicle than to do the repairs.

315 fitment and the quad shocks

It ought to fit with no problems. 315/30/18 michelins fit on my Mach which is essentially the same drop as the bullitt package you want. Don't get a spacer, because you don't need it. If the quad shock is really in the way, just take it off. It's not going to make a ton of difference in the...

    Failed Emissions

I have the exact same thing happen to me last year... when trying to get my mom's minivan to pass emssions. In my case, for some reason or another, the minvan's computer woudn't talk to the technicians computer. He failed it just because of that, and neither me nor my dad wanted to mess with...

Can't find old thread w/ IRS swap write-up link

I remember a thread on here where somebody posted a link to a site where somebody posted up a great 'how-to' with pictures and instructions on swapping and IRS out of an '03-'04 Cobra and into a '99-'04 GT with the cars right next to each other. Maybe the thread got lost when the Stangnet...

    Do mustangs have rev limiters?

:nono: wrong Consider the next seconds after you shift at peak power. Your engine speed after your shift drops to a point on the curve where you are making a much lower amount of power than if you shifted at an engine speed after peak. Let's say your peak power is 245 and you shift right then...

    Sway Bars

Think of swaybars more as suspension 'tuning' parts rather than just a straight upgrade. On a stock mustang where the suspension understeers, a stiffer rear swaybar would help make the car more neutral, but a new front swaybar would be unnecessary. I would recommend that you do all the...

    Whats the difference?

I'm a fan of the MRT H-pipe with a Magnapack catback. Loud american rumble, but not hollow sounding.

    Traction Lock & Gears

At one of the model years they changed the 5th gear ratio in the T-3650, but the only problem is I can't remember which year. I want to say that you have the .68 .... anyways, if it is that close of a call for you between .62 and .68, have you considered getting 3.90s as a happy medium?

    Suspension/steering Help

GSTANGT is right about costing $$$, but if you want the 2" drop and you want to do it right then you need: 1. Springs (of course) 2. matched Shocks/struts 3. Taller balljoints (raises the front roll steer back to where it should be) 4. a bumpsteer kit - with this you won't need the offset...

    Traction Lock & Gears

    If you have the T-3650 with the .62:1 5th gear and go 4.10s: 70mph = 2327rpms 75 = 2494 80 = 2660 85 = 2826 90 = 2992 If you have the T-3650 with the .62:1 5th gear and go 3.73s: 70mph = 2117rpms 75...

    S/C 04 Mach 1 Advice

I'd be a little more careful- the compression is up there on the Mach's motor. If you wanna go worry free then you'll want forged rods and and forged dished pistions to drop the compression down some $$. You can talk to some more guys who have tried various setups at the mach 1 registry

does anyone have welds on a daily driver

That's absolutely correct! :nice: I was only addressing the issue of Rolling Resistance that was brought up earlier.

does anyone have welds on a daily driver

I think that's a little out of proportion. Rolling Resistance is a linear function: weight * u = Resistance (in newtons) where u is rolling resistance coefficient, which is the dynamic friction coefficient for the tire. The u for car tires on dry pavement is usually in the ballpark of .015...

Locked calipers! Need opinions today! Dealer trying to rape me?

if you got the rear disc hot enough to warp the rotor, I would not be considering buying a cross drilled rotor. they will warp much quicker than a smooth rotor

    turbo vs supercharger

take a look at the area under the power curve in the useful range of rpms on the dyno chart. if your turbo stang has more area, that's why it wins. if not, then there is another factor at work

Need Help Finding New Shocks Fast.

On these mustangs: on the front = struts in the back = shocks They both perform the same job (dampen the springs) but they are slightly different. I think you are saying that your front left strut is bent. You could just buy an OEM replacement for the front left and be done with it...
