    Grinding Fourth

I've had this problem in my Stang for a couple of years but it's just resurfaced because I haven't done much highway driving in quite a while. I have a 2000 GT (T45 trans). Under normal conditions I can run it up to fifth and then back down again no problem. Once it's been on the highway for a...

anyone ever hear strait flow mufflers with X pipe

I have a Bassani Off road X and Hooker aeroflow mufflers. I love it for the most part. If I baby it around under 2000rpms the volume is barely noticable by other cars (handy when cops are about) but when I get it up in the higher RPMs it roars quite nicely. It does pop alot on deceleration...

    thinking about nitrous...?

Well, I won't call you dumb, but here's what Ken at MD has to say about that... The other steps he's talking about can be found here. http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?threadid=1877 Good drag times depend on a lot more than power. Once you're done the basic bolt ons for...

    Help on tires for 2000GT

Really depends on what you need out of your tires. Do you want super sticky or something that will last a while? Are you really concerned about wet traction? I was big on wet traction and I got the BFG KDW's. Most people give them pretty good reviews. Potenza's are pretty nice too. Toyo...

GT driving lights with a twist...

It's fairly original (on this body style anyway) and it isn't overdone. Well Done.

    mustang v6 2005

The V6 engine is sourced from the Ranger and Explorer. Not exactly what one would call a sports car engine... Motor Trend said it's very reluctant to rev and pretty much a dog. Save the money and get a V8... or an SRT-4.

    Best Headers??!?!?!

Hooker or BBK seem to be about the best. I like the part about not having to remove the Hooker headers to change the clutch, but it's a feature you definately pay for. They're just about the most expensive headers on the market.

can any N/A stang keep up with a newer vette?

I knew somebody was going to say something like that. It's called accidents. If you've ever watched a race, you've seen that cars sometimes make "contact" with one another. This "contact" often results in maintenance requirements that take up many, many laps. That 50th place Porsche was actually...

can any N/A stang keep up with a newer vette?

I think what this thread has shown is that you need to be more specific about what kind of Vette you're talking about and where you want to beat it. 1/4 mile? stoplight to stoplight? Open Track? C5? Z06? C6? And to whoever said that a Mustang can compete with a Vette in a handling race, you...

Autocross/roadracers...I need advice, please come in !!

Yup. Start with the rear grip kit and the chassis brace kit, unless you can afford the road & Track box.

    05 Stangs in Canada??

Steele Ford Lincoln in Halifax siad 3rd week of November. What a crappy time to ship a car like this to Canada. Victoria and Vancouver might be OK but if you get snow, why would you buy one now? It'll depreciate and you'll pay interest on the financing while it sits in your garage. When the...

    Tire Question...

Even 275s are too big for an 8 inch rim. You can get away with it, buts it's not exactly an ideal setup.

    A real spring question...

Sleepy is right, it really depends what kind of performance you're looking for. If you want autocross type performance, you want the C springs or the Bullitt springs backed up by the appropriate shocks and struts. That's hard fact backed up by US National Champ level drivers. Other than...

    best way to correct speedo?

I also got the DM speed cal but I'm in the process of swapping it for the predator. Should have gotten the predator in the first place. It's well worth it.

    Launching with 4.10's... impossible?

You barely need to touch the gas to roll out smoothly in first. I like launching with 4.10's better than the stock gearing.

    Rice vs Mustang

The 4.6L is a pretty durable engine. Do the normal oil changes and stuff like that and it'll outlast every other component of the car. Keep the car clean and wax it every once in a while to prevent rust and the body will last a long time. Your biggest worry money wise should be the clutch and...

Those of you with the Bullitt Suspension...

Ummmm... the Bullitt kit is C springs. http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=275 I've also seen it without the sway bars, which many people say aren't substantially different enough to warrant the cost.

what to do for lowering my 2002GT + pics?

This whole question depends a lot on whether you want looks or performance. Most of the springs labeled "Sport" actually lower the Mustang too far and do more harm than good to the suspension and steering geometry. Most of the guys who need serious cornering performance, i.e. autocrossers, get...

    Auto-X a mustang

Not a lot of people auto cross their Mustangs. My best guess is that they can't handle getting their rear end handed to them by Civics, Neons and Miatas. Don't let that discourage you though, those cars are in a higher class for a reason. I highly reccomend it, it is a lot of fun. If you...
