    Hissing Carb

With the speed adjustment screws backed off, the plates should seat well enough to retain the fluid. I'm still thinking the secondaries are stuck.

    Hissing Carb

At this point, I would pull the carb off, turn the idle speed screw all the way out, turn the carb upside down (after emptying the fuel bowls) and spray carb cleaner on top of the throttle plates to see if they are closed all the way.

    Air and Fuel

Idle air mixture is set using the 2 screws under the front fuel bowl. Air/Fuel ratio above idle is a function of throttle bore and jetting. Get an air/fuel meter if you want it more precise. Idle mixture screws should be a maximumof 1 1/2 turns out from a LIGHT seating.

    Hissing Carb

Is the base of the carb flat? The sound you describe I would say is a result of the throttleplates being partially open. Is the idle speed adjustment screw cranked down to the point of almost binding the spring? If it's a 4V,it may be the secondaries not being fully closed. Otherwise maybe a...

okay this is a weird one...

Try the ground wire to the instrument cluster or the tan/yellow wire that goes to the TFI module. Also, possibly corrosion on the connector.

    Air and Fuel

How did you adjust the air/fuel mixture? Sounds like you need the shop manual to get everything back to "default" and start over again. Too high a float level would make it run richer. A jet size too big would do the same. Sticking secondaries (not uncommon) would cause it to "high idle." A...

Jason, have you cleaned both battery terminals and all the grounds you can find? Try running a new temp. set of wires from neg. battery terminal to engine block and car body and see what happens.

    Charging System Voltage

On a factory alternator/regulator system, to check the maximum alternator output, you need to pull the connector off the regulator and jumper the 'A' and 'F' terminals on the connector to each other. Read the voltage at the battery terminals. It should steadily increase, but don't let it go over...

    67 Convertible Vin #??

Not that I remember. Got a tag on the motor under the coil or off of the front of the fuel bowl on the carb? That may narrow the years down. Also look inside the rear quarter panels for Ford part numbers indicating they've been replaced. According to the shop manual the "official" number for...

Help find a new fuel pump electrical connector

OK I found one at a local U-Pull-It yard in the middle of the snow storm. The Ford engineering number is E5ZB-AA base# 9A340. I don't know what this other one is but... P260H-OK The harness is for the sending unit and fuel pump.
