    you say the brakes are not stock.. do you have plain rotors? if not you may be hearing/feeling the pads pass over slots or holes in the rotor.

    The WHOLE reason that you set timing with the spout out is so the timing is STATIC.. with the spout in, it's supposed to change. Pay absolutly NO attention to your timing with spout in. But feel free to pay attention to the caps lock when you sit down at the computer to post.

    fixable or not?

    I didn't see it mentioned, but may have missed it.. Have you ruled out the PIP sensor in the dizzy?? I had a random not start issue that went on for a while, tried several things.. read about the pip sensor problems.. rebuilt dizzy from AZ fixed it, never has happened again in 3 years and 15k miles.

    As with anything mechanical.. yes, without doubt it can be done. Is it / will it be cost effective.. no way. custom brackets, blower drive and lower manifold of some kind, and remember the 4.6 doesn't have pushrods and such to work around.. Kenne Bell is the best answer for a whipple style...
