    Yes they should stock both a Motorcraft and a Purolator brand, with the Motorcraft costing a few cents less.

    You can get them for $15 or less. '99+ stangs have some kind of locking mechanism where you need the tool or some kind of round skinny plastic like I used to get the lines to unlock.

    IF you don't have the tool, you can slice a piece of a plastic lid or something similar (eg spray paint can lid) with a thin, flexible cylindrical shape and slide them underneath the lines that hook onto the filter to disengage the locking tabs.

    I'm trying to decide on the SCT xCalibrator2 vs. the DiabloSport Predator vs. nothing. I haven't dug too deep into looking at pricing (SCT is ~$60 more expensive). I do like the cigarette lighter bezel switch that you can buy for the SCT to change tunes on the fly, so I am leaning towards it...

    Did you put on the rims with the existing tires too? They were low profile too werent they? May already be sized properly for the V6 as well; may not be a big difference if any between GTs and V6s in that department... someone who knows will have to verify that... :shrug:

    What kind of price is the Ford dealer giving you? Both 1stfordparts.com and genuine-ford-parts.com are selling them for a bit over $100 dollars + S&H. You can always check junkyards, but it'd be much easier to just order a new one.

    Larger rims will use lower profile tires to keep the speedometer the same. They're generally more expensive, so keep that in mind when buying larger rims.

    Likely spark knock. Try a higher octane gas and see if it goes away or lessens. If not let us know and we can work from there.

    I fishtailed last night in mine (stock rims, cooper all weather tires). I did it on purpose though. I was turning left on a wet road. 2nd time I've fishtailed in the car, the first time wasn't on purpose and it spooked me pretty bad.

    Autozone/Advance can test most alternators for free (or at least they used to). If you think it has something to do with the tune, try going back to default settings and see if there is still a problem.

    From the wiring diagram, the Light Green/White wire controls the turn lamp (and signal in instrument cluster). The brown wire controls the license plate lamps and front/rear side markers. I can send you a diagram if you need it.
