    yeah, he's right on the sizes if you get it 30 over, youll be packing a huuuge 306.... my money is rings. but if you are overhauling the whole beast, go for the gold.

    when i was a mechanic, i used to have younger guys bring me their alternators to the shop and id zap it off for them for free. if you have an extra car you could always to that real fast.

    a compression test is your best friend right now. then after that, a leakdown if necessary. *usually* if your car is burning oil "fast", as in a rapid rate, you can kinda throw the seals out of the picture. there really isnt a lot of oil up there to cause you to go through oil like hotcakes...

    i *think* its something like: Bore x Bore x Stroke x .7582(?) x 8 so find the mystery number and youll get the 363. im not in my math mode right now, but it shouldnt take you more than a couple minutes

    use a dmm and either check resistance, or if you have the continuity function, then use that. or pull a wire from any other cylinder and make sure those are firing. find one that fires then put it on the #1 terminal and see if it fires. that should rule the bad wire out. although, your car...
