    and dont forget that traction lock rearends require the use of locker specific gear oil or the use of the locker additave with the standerd gear oil. makes a big difference

    i dont know if can go with only the gears. with the 5 spd cars, you can change the drive gear as well as the driven gear on the cable. on the autos you can only change the driven gear. 3.73 mihgt be border line for doing that way.

    it was the third "here" i think you have to punch the pin out of the gear and that thrust plate towards the right of the picture. i had to use the smallest punch i had. dont use one too small, so small that it goes the middle of the roll pin instead of pushing it out. you could probably use a...

    if you dont have a press to get the dist apart, it may have been easier to buy a whole ramanufactured dist from them. i thouhg it was like 75 bucks to do it that way though plus your old one as a core.

    yeah my guess was gonna be timeing way off. im glad i read the whole post before responding because you figured that now. and also yeah the lower the timing the more it sounds like its "lopeing" did you tighten the dist lock good? maybe it was running and you hit the gas and spun the dist way...
