cable clutch conversion with these headers?

An update on my previous post: Here is a set of headers on Ebay also called Patriot Clipster 8433 that look exactly like yours. These are heavily wrapped so you do lose a little detail, but these do show the PS as being nearly straight back and the #1 and #3 as being inside, #2 and 4 as...

cable clutch conversion with these headers?

Are those the Patriot Clipster #8433? Those headers don't appear to be the current version of the Clipster. The current version has both the 1 and 2 cylinder pipes inside of the 3 and 4. Yours shows the 1 and 3 inside. The current version also points down at an angle (the DS more so) on both...

    302 Running Rough

Bummer! Sorry about that. :( It figures it was just on one side. Are you going to replace both head gaskets or just that side? Thanks for the update, though. Now I can file away more blown HG symptoms in my memory. Let us know if you get it fixed.

    Wheels!

Here's my car from close to the same angle with the 99-04 GT (Bullitt) wheels and 1" spacers. 225/45R17 front, 235/45R17 back. You can look on my cardomain site for more pics. :D Daniel

    302 Running Rough

You have something wrong that is affecting only one side. I wouldn't suspect the carburetor/intake first. Since you are running the airgap dual plane, if the carburetor would be at fault, both sides of the engine would be affected. If it was a jetting issue only, alternating cylinders would...

What waterpump on FRPP crate motor?

That makes sense. Thanks, Dave! The pump looked like my Explorer 5.0L pump. I didn't look closely at the timing cover and plate.

What waterpump on FRPP crate motor?

Tim, You may try a 1996 Explorer 5.0L water pump. That pump looks just like the one that came on my Explorer engine. If that doesn't work, a 1995 F150 5.0L waterpump should work since that's what the F5TE part number on the water pump is coding for. Good luck finding the gasket. :) Daniel

pink resistor wiring- easy way to do it?

I just bypassed it at the ignition switch terminal, added another parallel wire to go to my pertronix. The pink resistor wire is still there if I ever go back. Daniel

FS: Edelbrock Torker 289 carbed intake in excellent condition

Torker 289, excellent shape. Ready for porting or leaving as is. $125 + shipping OBO. I'll include Edelbrock's bracket for throttle cables if you'd like. In case you aren't familiar with these vintage intakes: Twisted Torkers are great single plane carbureted intakes for stock or mild builds...

65 modded mustang vs 05-08 handling comparison

Here's an interesting video. If you throw enough money ($145K in this example) at a vintage car, you can make it handle nearly as well a new GT500... There are less expensively built, far lighter 65-66 cars out there that will outhandle the featured 3500lb (!!!) 66 but the featured one did...

    Leak under dash

if you pour water down the cowl vents, can you confirm the leak? This will narrow down where it is coming from. There are three areas for leaks: the cowls (rust through very common), the upper corners of the windshield (leaks down the sides behind the gasket and behind the dash from a...

new ceramic coated tri-y headers + x pipe for SBF

Tri-y headers are what Shelby used in 1965-66 on his GT-350s. These are clones of those. Basically they are long tube 4 into 2 into 1 headers instead of the other 4 into 1 long tube style. The tri-y helps with low end torque for street (and in Shelby's case, track) and also has more ground...

    flex a Form fiberglass springs

I think you bring up valid points, but many of them are also true of steel springs. Caltracks are used on steel springs to control wheelhop, not just on FAF ones. The fraying ends may be a possibility (though steel springs won't have this particular issue), but I've not noticed any. Some...

Flowtech long tubes, 302, T5 fit

I'm not sure about the flowtech long tubes, but hydraulic clutches give you a lot more room to work with. I would have been able to use the tri-ys in the classifieds if I had gone with a hydraulic clutch or had stuck with the old bellcrank style with my T5 conversion. The secondary pipe for...

    flex a Form fiberglass springs

Good to know. By the way, the website order form will ask a bunch of questions for info not usually needed from us in that our springs aren't "custom" per se. They already know the dimensions (for unaltered Mustangs) and will steer you into one of several spring rates (180#, 200# and 225#...

    flex a Form fiberglass springs

As far as I know they are still in business. With change in ownership, the Flex-a-form webpage may have temporarily lapsed. Try the FAF phone# (864)261-7006 or contact Alex at MoneyMakerRacing since he keeps in regular contact with them and has some stock on hand. Let us know if you get...

    flex a Form fiberglass springs

IIRC, I payed $425 shipped to my door a few years ago, but I think it is still close to that. This included the front and rear eye bushings (poly) and sleeves). IMO, it's a good value for the benefits, benefits including: much better handling from reduced unsprung weight, less side...

    flex a Form fiberglass springs

I'd get them from Alex Denysenko at Moneymaker Racing as mentioned above. They will be the same price (or very close) as directly from Flexiform and he offers much better tech support (best support and info in business for nearly everything he sells). I haven't dealt with the new owners, but...
