we need to get this section going

Nice time! I'm hoping I can get an 11 second pass before the year is out. It's just too hot out right now to be sitting in the staging lanes though.

we need to get this section going

What's up Jen? I remember you. My car is doing okay. I haven't had a chance to take it to the track lately with all the heat. How's Jeff doing? I haven't talked to him in a while.

Peak power at 5200 sounds about right. Your cams are just fine.

H&R Super Sports installed, question in regards to ride quality

Did you change out the pinion snubber?

    Sorry, but another cam question...

If he did have the Comp 270s, those wimpy 3.73 gears are what's hurting him big time. With any stage 2 cam, you will need to change the valve springs. In my opinion, you should swap the springs when you do any aftermarket cam install. As far as PTV contact, there is nothing wrong with Comp...

quick question, loctite on spark plugs

This is exactly why Ford techs will never perform any underhood work on my car. I've had plugs in and out of my car, snugged them down with anti-seize, and not had a problem. I know many people who do the same, and they haven't had problems either. Do you know what kind of havoc loctite can...

12.5s, what do I need to do to get there?

There was nothing rude about your original statement. It was a general, and totally incorrect blanket statement, but not rude. It was offensive to me because, according to you, my car is slow, and basically comparable to a mild, bolt-on GT off of the track. For someone that is a second away from...

12.5s, what do I need to do to get there?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but my car is far from a trailer queen, and is not stripped. All I have done is removed the rear seat and swapped out the fronts with a pair of Momos because I hated the stock leather seats. That's it. The majority of the weight loss on my car is from the wheels...

    4.6 Cams

Whether cams are worth it or not entirely depends on you, and what you're looking for. The install is a pain in the ass if you have to do valve springs, which you will if you go with anything larger than a stage 1 type cam (I'd install springs regardless of the cam size just for peace of mind)...

I'm Justin. I'm about 15 minutes away from Capitol, but I run at MIR most of the time. The car is in my sig.

What did I do wrong? (at the track)

How were you shifting, and what RPM were you shifting at? If you were shifting at redline, you might want to try shifting a little earlier...like around 5500 or so. Your 60ft isn't bad for street tires, though it could be better.

    Going to the track sunday...

No burnouts on the stock tires. Try to avoid the waterbox as much as possible, which isn't easy at Capitol. Once past the waterbox, rev the engine and drop the clutch to spin the tires over a few times and roll to the tree. No need to hold the brake or anything. You basically just want to clean...

heads + cams better then all else?

You will need a good majority of the bolt-ons plus heads/cams if you're looking to get close to 300HP. Heads and cams on an otherwise rock stock 4.6 2V car isn't going to do it.
