Where the hell can I find water pump/timing cover bolts and studs?

Might be a bit late but these guys carry a bunch of hard to find parts. Here are the studs a bit pricy but they are stainless. http://www.breezeautomotive.com/details.php?prod_id=393&cat_id=8

    Info on 331 w/ HCI

If you are buying the assembly, heads, intake, TB, etc. expect to be spending minimum $5000. Don't skimp on the kit if you do you'll pay for it later. Cheapest I've seen a kit with bearings and rings is just under $1000. I'm guessing that $775 kit doesn't include rings & bearings.

    306 vs 347 stroker

89CopCoupe I'm trying to validate one come back that you had above but am having trouble. I don't know where to begin but yes the 1.8L has 4 cyl and this doesn't matter for the forces you're talking about. The force you're talking in each cylinder is what counts and having eight cylinders...

    306 vs 347 stroker

"Only a stool would care to know the specs of a ricer engine How about a rod length? Plus I'm sure a 4 cylinder with 3.189" bore pistons has more surface area than an 8 with 4.030" pistons. I guess you and all the other fart-canners disagree with DSS, CHP, MMFF, 5.0 mag, etc etc, because...

    306 vs 347 stroker

First I have a question for you, have you ever built a 347ci stroker ran it then tore it down to evaluate this greater wear? I have and you might want to try it...interesting results. Also, I have a few friends running 347 right now, one is approaching 90,000 miles, another just over 100,000...

Yes, you also need look into what spring rate the new cam will need. There's more to a spring than lift.

    Mega Bite Jr.'s

I have mine on bottom hole which is 135% (if these percentages are correct), my car is a daily driver and I have only one issue with the setting. On the highway the car does bounce a little bit more than the other setting but not enough to make to change back to upper hole. HPM used to have a...

Which off the shelf cam? Help me please!!

Typically when you run a small hig velocity head like you have you can use a cam with more duration. I would look at something like a Crower 15513 w/1.7s. Should give a nice lope and still be streetable.

    Longtubes vs Shorty headers

There was guy over on Corral some time back who swapped just his 1 5/8" shorties for LTs and picked up like 10 ft-lbs & hp across the board. Motor wasn't as powerful as yours but was AFR165s, Cobra Int, TFS-1, etc. making @300rwhp/330rwtq.

    Engine Builders come in

"I was going to port the stock heads but i didnt find any carbide burrs around here(well at home depot, parts stores, harbor freight)." Might be too late but McMaster Carr (think its mcmastercarr.comm) has all the carbides you'll need at excellent prices. I did what your talking about to a...

Strange torque reading on dyno, any thoughts?

Motor was tuned with a EEC tuner, we played with timing tables until we found peak power at a/f we were after. Theres roughly 8 degrees added to stock table until about 3500rpm. Power around streets comes on real smooth and even.

Strange torque reading on dyno, any thoughts?

I know everything about the combo but don't want to post too much this will turn into a "you should be doing this" thread because it doesn't look like your typical combo. What puzzles me is the thing is a monster on the street from a stop light and power is abundant down low with no signs of...

Strange torque reading on dyno, any thoughts?

Here's a motor I put together for a buddy, the torque is strange as it's flat until @ 2800. Any thoughts on what's casuing this. It's a 306ci, 9.5:1, cam is small.

    MAF transfer with Tweecer

Find the spreadsheet (one created by Raymond B) that calculates what the MAF transfer should be with new size injectors and download this. This is a great starting point, from here though you will need to fine tune the values down near idle. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH ANY CHANGES TO MAF TABLE...

How important is lobe separation in camshaft selection?

"I can't conclude what would happen with just a change in LSA in his circumstance. " Sure you can, the different LSAs have different vlv events associated with them that are easily determined. Reread my posts and you'll see that my opinion is based on the difference in the intake events...
