I don't "facebook" or I'd help. You have a great site and I wish you all the luck needed to get to SEMA. I went a few years back and had a blast. I'm sure you will too!

    '66 suspension saga

That's no fun. Have you tried setting the rear end on jack stands (loading the suspension) then loosening up the shackles and eye bolts a little? Then bounce the rear and retighten everything. I always do the final tightening with the weight of the car on the suspension.

Wheel Setup for TCI Front Clip

Just call TCI yourself. They are nice folks and helpful. I had questions on my rear suspension and got answers right away. 4 3/4" is what they are recommending. That is how far in the wheel sits from the hub.

Mustang barn Tony Branda Street or track (suspension) On the west coast we have Mustangs Plus Open Tracker (suspension) Maier Racing (suspension) A couple of pieces of advice. Do a search for "Arning drop". There is never a reason not to do this if your suspension is out of the car...

    225/60R15 on a '65 vert?

I think with 3.5" backspace he's going to set the fender on the tire. The wheel will be sticking out too far. On a 15x7 wheel, 3.75" bs is about it. That puts the outer edge flush with the fender (you can't lower the car at this point). 4" or 4.25" works better.

    TCP front coil conversion

I haven't used TCP, but they have an excellent reputation. Two other kits you might want to look at are Street or Track (they use Bilstien coilvers). I'm a big fan of Bilstien and have their coilovers in the rear of my car, Bilstien shocks in the front. And check out RideTech. They put the...

    Mustang II on 67

I've got nothing against the MII setup. But unless you have a good reason to cut up your car, like adding a mod motor or big block with headers, you are planning a lot of work for very little (if any) improvment. You can NOT swap a MII front end because the frame rails are different widths. Or...

    Gap Filler For Fan Shroud?

I've toyed with the idea of black weather stripping for filling those gaps. 5/8" does seem a bit much though.

    15" tire size question again!

Thanks. Even going with black walls, there is not much out there for sticky rubber. BFG G-Force might work for you. I have Kuhmo ASX's and they are the weak link in my suspension.

    15" tire size question again!

Here's the same size wheels and B/S on my 68. obviously lowered quite a bit. Tires are 205/65/15 in front and 225/60/15 in the rear.

    shocks?

Call RCD for bilstiens. They helped me with some custom valved coilovers. Just because there isn't a part # for a 71, doesn't make it imposible (or expensive). It's worth a phone call. Testimonial RCD Classics RCD Classics Bilstein

    347...best carb question....

    2600 rpms (at 70) x .63 = 1638 rpms with the new trans. I'd go 3.55 or 3.40 at minimum

    EFI choices?

I've been eye balling the new Holley Avenger EFI. There are a lot of options available (multi O2 sensors, timing control, etc) and it is self learning. Unfortunately it's so new I don't think anyone has used one on a Ford yet.

    "Take a kid to a car show . . ."

Last summer I took my 7 yr old to a Mustang car show and he loved it. Someone fired up a Cobra and he still talks about it. This summer he will join me at the Monterey Historic races. That should be like when he caught his first fish...

Suggestions for cheap and easy weekend projects

For cars that had really oxidized paint and I couldn't make it worse... I've used comet/ajax powder cleaners as a rubbing compound. It strips off the top layer of paint and shines it up with mixed results. WARNING: You can go through the paint if you're not careful. Wax is needed right away or...

    TCI or someone eles??

I've got the TCI torque arm on my 68 convertible and love it. It's not perfect, but I'm 95% there and now it's just a matter of tuning. Before that I tried just about every combination of shock/spring and sway bar known to man. I could not find anything I was satisfied with. Convertibles...
