Can someone direct me to the thread... can't seem to find that thread that explained how to get the RPMs to drop faster. Something about emissions and Ford making the RPMs drop so slowly to reduce polution.
Thanks

Compression?
I'm not sure porting NPI heads will lower compression though.
Usually, the air passage way is ported, not the cylinder wall or area where the valves are... With PI heads, swirl dams can be cut down to bring the compression back to "normal" when swaped on pre-99 2Vs.
Porting
Usually, porting is porting. If they can port one head and have the "proper" instruments, flow bench and know how, there shouldn't be a problem.
PI and NPI heads are not different enough to restrain them from porting either one.
I'm in
This is not a burnout competition but I'll be posting mine up during the weekend or early next week.
Tomorrow I will be changing out my tires so will be finishing off my rears.
I will be filming and will post the vid up. If I figure how to do it...
My goals are smoke and a bit...
Drivetrain
Hey guys, I have a question for you.
For tose with 400rwhp and more, how does the drivetrain holdup?
I'm aiming for a built bottom end and about 15psi on NOVI2000 on a 4.6 but wondering and probably thinking that I will have to upgrade the axle, etc pretty quick afterwards...
Geeezz!!!
What's wrong with GIVING him a ride?!
Ok, so he said test drive. Heck, I don't have a S/C and am planing on getting one but I'm sure the passenger seat can tell lots too...
99+ stangs are NOT forged.
You can tell your uncle he is wrong.
Cobras have forged crank and the rest I'm not sure but GTs, definately not forged anything.
You can put a SC on stock internals no problems, all depends on boost #s. Of course there are plenty of people with 10lbs and maybe...
It's for a SC
I'm planning on SCing.
Stock 99+ pistons are hyperutectic? What about cast? are there any cast pistons? are they stronger than stock ones?
Another question... H-beam and I-beam, is the difference only in weight, the I being a lot lighter and decreasing rotational mass...
Well,
I'm up in Montreal and to be honest there aren't that many fast cars (M3, etc) and the chances I'll ever come up to one at a light is rather small. I just like accelerating for fun and yes there are a lot of twisties and the highway exchangers are not made like in the states...
in the...
the bullit has IRS?
Zinc, the 03 Cobra has IRS and would still get beaten by a Mach on an autocross track...
It's not just IRS or Solid rear that tells all the story. There weight, power, bars, struts, tires, unsprung weight, etc...
Found this... explains why the Mach 1 is fastest. Ya I heard that Bullits are pretty Torquy down low but to think of it, I would need more mods to keep up but I'd also have more money to spare due to lower purchase cost. Boy, the best is to think, try them out and be patient in deciding so no...
Ya > 03 Cobra, I would have to wait a year or two for prices to go down...
Patience, patience...
I guess it's gonna be personnal taste once I try them out. They seem pretty close but with higher compression on the Mach, prolly responds better to bolt ons.
I'll see if I can test drive both.
As for looks, I like the Mach 1 look better (stock for stock) but ideally, if i get the cobra, I'll want to swap the hood for a cobra R style hood which I like best (even thought the shaker is cool) and maybe get the R front spoiler too...
Are both blocks...
I'm leaning towards the 01 Cobra because of IRS and street manners.
I don't mind a tad bit slower... as it will be faster than my 96GT anyways.
I'm in an impulsive mood so I'll have to think about it a bit before going ahead, thanks guys.
