83 mustang parts work on a 87 coupe?

I believe that the older stuff also has different geometry that is quite a bit less desirable than the later cars. Should phisically bolt up but they are not the same. And then of course the brake issue thats already been mentioned. And the steering could be either as far as I know but I...

HELP Buying a CAR, HOW GOOD OF A DEAL IS THIS????

Sharp car but I would ask for the dyno sheet. I would also ask to see reciepts for anything I cant see. Its real easy to say a car has a top shelf 347 stroker because it looks just like a stock 5.0. Nobody would know the difference till they blew it up and tore it down....but Im a sceptic...

    chain or gears?

I dont know about the safety net thing. I would think that if you jam something up enough to snap the chain, something else is gonna bend. A nice tru roller chain is said to rob a little less power due to redced friction but its not like you will have any SOTP loss or improvement either way...

    Weld Draglite/tire Sizes

I have draglites on 2 of my cars and both are 15x8 with 5.5bs rear and 15x3.5 front. Front tires are 165-R/15 and rears are 255/60x15 on one and 10.5x26" slicks on the other. The slicks should be the same size as a 275/50-15 and I had to do some clearancing on the inner wheelwell near the...

Question for convertible owners + a few other ??'s

I have some wind noise back there but its not TOO much. Never had a problem with leaking water though. I would check those U-joints to see if their getting sloppy. The noise could just be that simple. The oild pan color thing you heard has to do with weather or not the motor had forged...

turbo coupe rear disc on a mustang rear

The only part thats welded on is that anti moan bracket. The brackets will bolt onto your stang rear just fine but as others have already stated, the axles will need to be swapped. It is possible to keep the stang length axles by using the north racecars brackets. The way I did it was to do...

    Roller going carbed need info

Since your motor is a 96. I assume you have a motor out of a Explorer or something other than a mustang? I would suggest just using an electric pump rather than scrounging around for the right cover to use a mechanical pump. I have 2 carbed mustangs and I just used Holly electric pumps on...

    C-4 tranny in a 86?

I found a usefull page here http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/idx/9/056/article/Ford_Transmission_Spotters_Guide.html Im convinced you DO have a C3.

    C-4 tranny in a 86?

Does it have overdrive or just a 3 speed auto? If its overdrive then definately not a C4. The later ones came with a A4LD that is an overdrive automatic but for some reason Im thinking in 86 it could be a C3. A C4 has a bellhousing that is removable from the transmission case while a C3 is...

    1984 SVO into 1990???

I believe the SVO rear is quite a bit wider than your 90 rear. The SVO used wheels with a special goofy offset. A better choice would probably be a turbo-coupe rear. They are 8.8 and come with either 3.55 or 3.73 gears depending if it was an auto or 5-speed. They are still wider but I dont...

    302 carbed setup.

My opinion would be to not bore it unless you need to. If the cylinders are good there is no reason. I have never seen any noticable increase in power from a .030 overbore. Say you have a nice running engine that makes 1hp per cubic inch, those extra cubes will only gwt you an extra 3 or 4...

    looking for to trade

How much $$$ you gonna kick in on the deal? I'll go your car and some cash for my vert but aint nobody in their right mind gonna trade straight up. You could sell a 5.0 car and buy 2 comparable 2.3 cars.
