When you start talking about stroker kits, P&P heads, intake manifolds, and cams with phasers all I can thik of is OUCH! Got to put a hurting on the wallet. Unless you can do all the labor yourself I don't see any advantage over a blower other than not having the associated heat and stress...
I've been to auto auctions before and seen otherwise crappy looking cars with an engine compartment that looked brand new. Your car was probably well detailed.
As for the struts, it's pretty common to change those when you lower the car. Was it lowered when you bought it? I notice you have...
Has anyone seen any official curb weights of the new camaro?
I would even expect the V6 version to be heavier than a GT. The downside is that 300 hp is just a rating, GM could be underrating like they did the LS1 (320 hp rating with about 300 RWHP.
Better be buying up the boltons boys...
Get a spydershaft and you'll have $100 left.
I just got my check last week, haven't took it to the bank yet but mine will probably be used on FRPP hot rod cams.
The only thing is that Ford didn't rob the public when the 05's came out, the dealers did.
It's all about supply and demand, if there's a limited number of camaros the first year or first half of the year, there will be mark ups. There's going to be plenty standing in line to buy that car and...
Don't expect to buy the new camaro without a mark up either. I've also heard that gt 500's can be found for MSRP. I don't know how accurate that is but I'll bet you can get one for MSRP by the time the camaros come out.
I still can't see Ford bumping GT hp up by 100 in one model year...
Unless you really want ram air I would just tack on some fake dual hood scoops. I've seen some that look identical to the ones on those hoods.
Otherwise I would go with the hood you posted first. The other 2 look stock with scoop tack ons.
I don't really care about taillights or air vents, the car is still going to look the same basically and that's good. The big deal is what's under the hood for the GT. If it's a 400 hp 5.0 then our cars aren't going to be worth squat.
How would drilling here make gas any cheaper? Wouldn't oil just go for market value? Why make X amount selling to A when you can make more selling to B. Greed is greed whether it's American or foreign. They ship our jobs overseas to make a bigger profit, why not our oil?
I was originally...
The only problem with supercharging is there's a lot of small print. You still need supporting mods to get the power to the ground. Boost doesn't exactly extend the life of the motor either. There's plenty who's aready stuck a rod through the block with whipples.
I've seriously...
I would get a custom dyno tune with cams..
I'm probably going to be getting the hot rod cams along with some CMDP's, UD pullies, and an aluminum flywheel. The pullies and flywheel should help make up some of the low end loss from the cams.
A v6 in a GT is a deal breaker for me.
Nothing like V8 rumble. It's every bit as important as performance for me, I couldn't do without it.
I'll ride around in freezing weather with both windows down just to here my exhaust, I'd never do that with a V6.
I have SLP LT's and love them. SS, ceramic coated. I don't know how they compare in price to the others mentioned here though.
I had mine custom fitted to my full length MAC offroad prochamber. I would recommend you get an LT/shorty H pipe combo though. I think SLP only offers an X pipe...
