    forgged internals and Twin turbo

I have a horror story that, thank god, ended good. I purchased a KB 9 psi kit with all the extra goodies. I installed it myself over a weekend with my buddy. We got everything right the first time. Engine fired up, idled normally so we took it out for a spin. The power was awesome! No leaks...

    loudmouth vs stinger vs magnapack

I have the stock headers, SLP catted X and the Borla stingers. The combo is LOUD, especially around 2000-2500 rpm cruising. It does get raspy under WOT, which I do not like. I had the stingers in with the stock H and that did a sound good (no raspyness)but it was not loud enough. I am going to...

give my your knowledge on racing seats.

I have the Cr1's with the Corbeau brackets. They are a very snug fitand I am 6'0 and 170 lbs. The Corbeau brackets are good enough for me. No complaints at all, except the price. I installed harnesses from the back seat belt buckle recipticle... but I use em for show only and I am not going...

    Stroker Kit

From what I have read it is not worth the price tag if you are staying N/A. Now, I need to forge my internals next winter. Would it be worth while to stroke it at the same time since I will have to go in there anyway? Oh, I have a 2002 with the 9psi intercooled KB.... I want to dial it up...

    forged internals

If you are going the supercharger route then definitely forge your internals and go with a lower compression ratio. This will lower your hp before you put the supercharger on, but it will allow you to dial up the boost which in turn increases your hp. So if you look at it that way, yes...

How long does it take for springs to settle?

I have the tokico hp setup and my alignment was way off. The drop was about 1.5" and I really chewed up the fron tires in two weeks. I already had new rims & tires in the garage so I didn't care. I got an alignment and now it is all good. I took a chance and did not install CC plates. Worked...

Question about racing seats and stock seat belts..

I have the Corbeau CR1's with the Corbeau brackets. The female recepticle mounts to the bracket (I used the old ones from the back seat). I still use the factory seat belt during daily driving. It will rub on the seat a bit but not too bad. And it is a PITA to turn over and grab the seatbelt...

guys is it difficult to change oil on the kb?

The 'filler hole' is on top of the blower. You need to pump it out of there with a small pump, which you can rent from your local parts store. The oil comes out the same way it goes in.

    can't hook up with 18's

Street tires do not hook that well at all. Doing a burnout for more than 1 second is pointless. And letting the air out is also pointless and will actually harm you more than it will do you good. There is no sidewall flexing to speak of, the only thing it will accomplis is a lower trap speed.

everyone who has a KB blower

KB uses the SCT chip so I assume that they are using the SCT software as well. What you need is the base calibration file from KB, a hand held SCT tuner (Excalibrator 2 is out in a couple of days) and then you can make minor adjustments to the timing etc. There are guys who do street tunes, just...

everyone who has a KB blower

There are several wideband out there that you can use. I have the wideband commander (http://www.widebandcommander.com/) which you can get for about $400. If it is showing a lean condition under WOT then it needs to be addressed. I would still seriously recommend that you find a dyno tuner...

everyone who has a KB blower

It is not the boost level that causes damage. It is a combination of several factors. It is highly recommended to dyno your car and measure your AF ratio to make sure that you are running a safe tune. KB's tune was VERY DANGEROUS for me. I was running around 13.5:1 above 4k rpm. If you...

everyone who has a KB blower

Like the others said, ditch the pulleys, don't get the diablo chip and get the CAI + MAF from KB. KB will say that you void the warranty on the blower if you modify their tune. But will KB replace your engine if it goes kaboom with their tune? I doubt it. My tune from KB was way lean. So I...

    pillar pods

Most people will say that you need a boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge. I do not agree. Yes, it is nice to know your boost and it is nice to see that you get the right fuel pressure, but it is not necessary. If you only want 1 gauge then I would go with a wideband AF gauge and invest in a...

journey to 12sec/NA GT... Almost there!

Yeah, it takes practice and guts to get 12's though. Sticky tires and a 5k rpm launch screams for a built rear end....

    What Numbers With KB Kit?

Yeah, I dig mine too. I had the KB supplied gauges on there for a while but they look cheap. So I decided to go with the full setup. Simco (SP?) makes a similar one without the broncos horsie on it now that is looking good aswell for about $250. I got mine slightly used (mint condition) for...
