    Forged or Cast?

Hi everyone. Been absent from the forums for quite some time. Was hoping someone could help identify these pistons for me? They are a set of Jahns racing pistons for a AMC 390. I can't tell if they are forged or cast however. Can you guys tell from these photos? Thanks in advance for the help!

    Cruise Control Stopped Working

This is something I havent heard of. Im assuming if this were the case you would hear and audible vacuum leak in the cab?

    Turn signals not working

The flasher is either behind the mailbox or under the steering column just to the left. Its a blue 3 pronged canister, about 1.5" across.

    harmonic balancer

No it is NOT normal. There should be a nice smooth rotation to the balancer. A stock replacement from Ford, Napa, Schucks, etc etc...would work fine. Its not necessarily mileage that can make a balancer go bad. It is a two piece part with gasket like material between the pieces. Age can cause...

    Crank-No Start-Fuel related

Hey everyone. I tried to crank up the ol girl before work last week and she would crank but wouldnt catch. After trying a few times I figured out the pomp wasnt priming. So where do I start. Its the original pump but I was not having any fuel issues before this. Bad relay? Blown fuse? Crap pump...

    any ideas??

Almost everyone on here will tell you gears gears gear...and their right :D The trick is which ones? Thats a thread in of itself. SFC's are a boring mod but necessary with gears. Smog/AC delete are good almost free mods (need bracket for AC delete). Bump your timing (free). Personally Im all...

Cant get rear control arm lined up

+ 1million! Ive done this twice now (Once for springs and once for torque box reenforcements). Jack the car up by the frame rails. Unbolt the shock, put a small jack under the LCA to help raise it into place. Take a ratchet strap and tie it to the axle and the torque box. Jack the LCA so the...

    Got the Merkur....here's pics

Wow thats a cool sleeper. I had never heard of this car until now. Looked it up in the Seattle craigslist and found a white 89 for $550. Its has a little damage to the lower front bumper and a small leak in the turbo oil line but looks good other then that. Makes me wish I had an extra $500...

my boost/vacuum gauge, are my readings bad?

Its hard to give a definitive answer on that. Stock merc is 18-21hg. Depending on your setup that can vary wildly. Does it idle ok? Any surging? Mine sits at 12.5 hg and Im pretty sure I have a leak somewhere because my idle is not stable at all. Unfortunately its not an audible leak and so far...

    76mm C&L MAF

I have a 76mm and it went in the pooper. My low end dissapeared and my idles was all over the place. Didnt have the cash to replace it so I just pulled the sensor out of a stock 19# unit and dropped it into the C&L housing...PRESTO! I am NOT impressed with C&L electronics...although I dont mind...

    Front coil springs

For the fronts his control arm may not extend down far enough for it to fall out. The front springs are pretty long. Thats what happened to me. If thats the case you may have to disconnect your tierod to give you more room

New Fox Owner..where do i start?

New, beefier block. 331 forged stroker kit, blower. Hello 10's :D Of course the T-5 ain't gonna hold up to that. I would go with a Gforce t-5 with straight cut gears and matching clutch. Get the frame shored up with some full length subs and a set of battle boxes (torque box reinforcements), 6...

Can I call it a fastback?

Mehhh. I always go generic and call it a fox, or a fox body. They can see it has a hatch so I don't feel the need to elaborate on it. hehe :D

    Drag radial question

Dosn't BF Goodrich make an 18" drag radial? G-Force T/A Drag Radial? The only problem I see with these is there isn't much side wall to "wrinkle" on a lo-pro tire like that. May be tougher to get grip then say on a 17" tire. Here it is. Spendy...

    Lowering Spring Pic Database

Thats exacty why I like em, unique. Too bad I smacked the passenger sides on the curb. Need to find a couple fresh replacements and used the dinged ones for drag radials :D

    Lowering Spring Pic Database

Sure I'll contribute, why not? These are Eibach Sportline Springs with Poly Isolators on 245/50R16 tires. I would also like to note that these were used springs before I installed them so they may sit a tad lower than new Sportlines.

    I WANT THE LOUDEST EXHAUST.

Not that I have the loudest setup but I can say that an HCI combo makes a HUGE difference in volume. Im running a ported GT40 setup with an ecam, shortie headers, o/r H, and a magnaflow catback and it is significantly louder than my buddies setup with an Novi 1000, cobra intake, stock E7's...

    Lifter Maintenance?

Hey guys. I purchased a set of slightly used lifters. When I got them they were of course still oily/dirty. My question is what is the best we to prepare/clean them before I install them in my car. Some kind of solvent? Is there a specific type of oil I should soak them in before they are...

    Hey Fox-body people.....

:( Man I miss bellingham...its hard to believe its been almost a year since I moved. The funny thing is I could'nt find a fox body to save my life when I lived up there. All the ones I did find were 4 bangers or hunks of crap. :bang: If it wouldnt cost me $80 in gas to and from I would be there...
