    you load the bearings, because under launch if a cap goes, your carrier gets spit strait back. the girdle supports this area some. besides, the girdles look so cool you're sure to gain at least 10 hp lol.

    mine are 1.6 crane gold rockers. it depends more on the brand you are using. my baffle was trimmed up as well.

    yes, however depending on what rockers you use, you may need to trim the filler baffle.

    i have basically the same kit. the stage one cam really shines above 3000 rpm. the 373's in my car feel perfectly matched to it.

    you could drop the pan yourself, the only trouble i find is that most people don't know what to look for. i would suggest letting a good reputable shop drop the pan, with you watching (if they allow it) a good tech will be able to explain what the debris he sees is coming from.

    thanx for the reply, i just did the delete last week when i changed my top end. i found an old bolt and made a couple of plugs with it, sealed em up with some copper rtv. works great, costs nothing.

    if the band broke, then you can likely just change it. if it burned up and is making metal, then you should strip it completely. all depends how much metal contamination there is. if you have no experience with automatics, then i would definately suggest letting a shop handle it.

    you could likely tell if its stocks by measuring the base circle of a lobe then measuring the top of the lobe. that would give your lift at the cam. if the valve lift on a stock cam is .444 then the cam lift should calculate between .277 and .278. hope this helps. better yet, stick it in the...

    my tfs stage one went in four days ago, and all i can say is yeehaw. nice mean sounding idle too. it also helps that the twisted wedge heads and eddy perf 5.0 went in at the same time.

    i would say synthetics should be fine. however, when i installed my eaton posi, there was a tag in the box that said to not use synthetic oil. maybe the clutch plates don't like it? it said to use regular gear oil with the friction modifier. any eaton guys out there that know?

    probably pinion bearings, try the pinion nut, see if it's backed off.

    it's quite easy, but you should use a dile indicator to measure backlash before and after. just mark the caps and shims as they come apart, put em back the same way, torque the caps, and hope fully the backlash is within a thow or two of where you started.

    any year. if it had a towing package or off road package. look at the tag on the diff cover. eg. 355 trak-loc will have a 3L55 on the tag, no L if it's open.
