Front QA1 Struts blew... What do you think of the Bilsteins?

I LOVE mine - they offer a perfect balance of streetability and performance, and you can't beat a lifetime warranty :D I have the HDs BTW

    Tri-Ax is in!!

Question - did you guys loctite the bolts that connect the shifter to the tranny?

    Tri-Ax is in!!

All I can say is WOW. I installed the handle in the lower position for shortest throw, and it makes a huge difference. The shifts are clean and precise (not sloppy like the stocker) and just overall feels so much better. If you have a 5 speed and haven't installed an aftermarket shifter, do it...

    SLP Loudmouth

There's a pretty nice clip on mustangexhaust.com that has both the Magnapacks and SLP exhausts on it - they rev one after another. Compared to the Maggie exhaust, the SLP just sounds nasty. Take that as you will - some people prefer the really raw, nasty sound (see my sig for my preference :D ).

    Remote Start

Talk to Spreadman - he has/had a Clifford remote start, and IIRC, he has a manual tranny as well. He should be able to help you out w/ the details.

My build-up plan - experts school me pls

Acutally, this most likely will not be a track car - at least not a heavy duty one. I'm only planning on having street tires (like Nittos), not going the DR or slicks route. And I realize that I could still burn out my clutch or snap my driveshaft with that much power, but I'm not sure I want to...

    lost to an s2000...

:stupid: He might have been able to run a 13.6 stock, but no way he'd be in the 12s.

    Magnapack Cat-Back w/ Magnaflow X??

No difference in power. Just volume (Magnaflows are actually mufflers, and the 'Packs are resonators). Size and shape of the two are different as well. To tell the truth, I don't know how anyone has a problem with drone if they have the catted X/Magnapack combo. The only time I really have...

My build-up plan - experts school me pls

Current mods are in my sig Ok, here we go - this is my DD, so I'm looking to stay emissions legal and keep a streetable car (I'm going to eventually get a beater for winter/rainy weather). My goal is ~400rwhp, more if possible :D Stage 1: Mild cams (blower), valve springs + port/polished...

    Magnapack Cat-Back w/ Magnaflow X??

No, they definitely aren't - they're what made me decide to go with the 'Packs! :nice:

    Magnapack Cat-Back w/ Magnaflow X??

Take those with a grain of salt, however - I found nearly all of the Magnapack sound clips to be distorted. They sound MUCH better in person. :nice:

    Magnapack Cat-Back w/ Magnaflow X??

The combo sounds great - I don't like the sound of the 'Packs with the stock H nearly as much. Performance boost is good too, but I felt most of it when I changed the midpipe out.

New guy ? about cam swap and idle characteristics

Would the Stage 1s be smog legal in MD? How much of a detriment to gas mileage would they be? Edit: I'm looking at a blower down the road - are the Stage 1s blower friendly?

Will Flowmasters fit in a Magnapack catback?

Yeah, that was my plan, but as I said, I'm a little skeptical with the Magnapack catback. The 'Packs are at a pretty steep angle, which leaves little to no room on the outsides. Since the 'Packs are 4" wide, and the Flows are significantly wider, I figured they wouldn't fit without some...

Will Flowmasters fit in a Magnapack catback?

See this thread for the reason :)

Will Flowmasters fit in a Magnapack catback?

From what I've heard, there is only a couple of HP difference between all aftermarket mufflers, and that most of the HP to be freed up on a stock car is in the midpipe. That's certainly where I noticed the biggest difference.
