    Choked exhaust = failed emissions???

    No, NOx is caused by internal engine conditions, ie lean a/f mix, inoperitive egr, etc. Your stock exhaust with cats won't have any negative effect on your emissions readings. Make sure any aftermarket mods have CARB #s on them.

    I'm having a major hesitation on accel in the 1500-2000 rpm range, just off-idle. When I punch it, it seems to fall on its face, then picks up and moves after 2k. Carb is a rebuilt holley 600 w/vacuum secondaries... I would think accel pump, but could vacuum leak at the intake, or a combination...

    C4 no reverse

    I would check fluid level first. Fluid level is critical with automatics. If that's good, may be a band/servo problem. C4s are not really that hard to rebuild, make sure you have a good manual with good illustrations of the breakdown in parts. Also keep track of where all the little check balls...

    might want to hook up a regulator to your spark plug adapter, when I changed my springs anything over 30 psi wanted to turn the motor over.

    That, and :bang: :bang: :bang: for not thinking to check that first. A good rule of thumb is to go with the cheapest methods first and work your way to the most expensive.

    Finally got underneath the trans to look at the modulator. Sure enough... there's a peice of rubber hose that connects the modulator to the hardline. The hose had come off. Plugged it back in, made sure it was hooked up to the hardline... played around with the carb air/fuel mix, idle speed...

    Ahh, I never retorqued after initial run in. That could be why my vacuum sucks. (no pun intended) :D I remember the instructions saying to follow the factory intake tightening sequence, and also not to tighten the outside 4 bolts over 15/20 ft lbs, or you could crack the intake. So go...
