    Is there an easy way to test for vacuum leaks? I had already cleaned the IAC before reading your post and mine DOES have the black vent. So far since cleaning IAC the engine hasn't died during defrost but I still wish I could figure out the rough idle issues..

    I spent some time at the shop today and they determined there is nothing wrong with my engine ..the engine noises im hearing was mostly fuel injectors and my camera exaggerated this sound big time (It didn't sound nearly as bad today when we listened to it in person). 2 different people...

    What Battery are you guys running

    I replaced the duralast with a Optima Yellowtop in my 00 GT 2 years ago along with a stereo system (1500 watts RMS output between 2 amplifiers) Haven't had any problems.

    A buddy of mine talked to a performance shop near his work which deals with a lot of mustangs and they want me drive it by tomorrow so they can take a look at it (for free). Hopefully they can at least tell me what I'm looking at in repairs. (engine noises is my main priority at this point)...

    I just recorded some video of the motor running w/ hood up (ticking sounds) and im also concerned about a random low "pop" sound coming from the exhuast during idle... I recorded that to, i have to leave for work now so no time to upload but I will post a link later tonight..

    Hm so AC diode perhaps..Is that an easy part to replace? I also noticed while I had hood up (engine idling) the cooling fan kicked on and it caused engine rpm to drop pretty low for a brief second. (IAC was still plugged in). And a couple of other observations while I had the hood up...

    Whenever I use the defrost setting on my heater (to clear foggy windshield) it causes the motor to have random loss of power (kind of a bucking sensation) also when I come to a stop the idle will go up and down along with the motor dying altogether at random times, It died on me 3 times today...

    Valve Noise..

    What confuses me with my 2000 GT is the manual says use 5W20 , The oil filler cap says 5W20, However there's a manufacture sticker under the hood that says use 5W30. (?) Ive always ran 5W20 but I'm curious why there's a discrepancy. Also my motor tends to make a lot of noise at higher rpm...

    Well turns out cylinder 4 wasn't the problem, After messing with it for awhile We decided to pull the connectors off each COP while the motor was running to identify which cylinder wasn't firing, When we got to #1 the engine idle didn't change at all.. Bingo. Took the COP out and sure enough...

    I replaced the coil pack in #4 but its still not firing, any ideas? The shop said the car is throwing code P0354.

    Since the car was running fine before I took it into the shop (other than cracked intake) they told me to bring it in real quick so they could pull engine codes etc. free of charge. Turns out cylinder 4 coil is dead (which is the one closest to the intake leakage) so probably got coolant...

    I ended up taking it to another shop that is able to do the repair under my warranty, only thing is since they charge more for labor / parts vs. carmax I have to pay $225 out of my pocket but I get the car back tomorrow or Friday, Works for me. I was planning on changing the spark plugs soon...

    Thanks for all the info, I have an extended warranty but I was thinking about doing it myself or at another shop because carmax is so backed up with repairs ill probably be without of my car for close to 2 weeks :notnice: However I talked to carmax again today and looks like they can fix it...
