Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

I have dual 1 1/4 " dual exhaust (Dynomax VT mufflers). Many different opinions I can see. This is not easy for me. I am now looking at replacing carburetor, intake and manifolds (Edelb 500 cfm Edelb performer int and K-code manifolds) The suggestion I have so far from my parts shop is...

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Candphall, you may be right, but I will double check anyway. I called the company that did the dyno and we have agreed to the following: I will install a set of used headers and deliver the car to them. They will test-install a larger Carb (actually an Edelbrock 600) and run the dyno test once...

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Thanks. Well, the "roller" cam is not stock replacement. I can easyly get headers installed and I can barrow a larger carb for testing. Will tube headers make a noticible difference in sound compared to the HiPo manifolds? I have a quiet ride and want to keep it that way.

If you look on top of the post, I just got the car back from tuning. Timing was of course also checked.

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Thanks. The engine runs very smoothly and most people think the car is very fast. I only reacted to the numbers on the sheet. Maybe I should take it to a specialist.

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Well, just to squize out the last drop... just like everybody else on this forum I guess... Also: I read an article were the 289 K-code and Shelby engines were compared. As I could interpret the only difference was the in the carb and intake combination, so maybe Bullit347 has a point?

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Thanks. As I am not a mechanic, I need to know how you deal with compression? BTW: I posted a question to Comp Cams and asked their reccomendation for Carb, but they suggested a 500 cfm (as I already have)

It is only 170 hp on the wheels. If you study the report attached on the first post you can see the results.

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Thanks. 1. I asked about the carb, but they said it was sufficiant. They did however change jets. 2. No clutch, only AOD 3. I don't know compression values 4. The heads, I was suggested +30 hp by changing heads, both here on the forum and in the shop were I bought. them. Now I only need...

Dissapointing Results - Have I Missed Something?

Had the car in for dyno-testing and results showed 230 hp /5000 rpm (se attachement). I had expected more (of course). Her is my engine configuration: 1. Edelbrock 500 4-port carburator 2. Edelbrock performer intake 3. Mallory distributor 4. Edelbrock performer heads 5. Comp Cams...

    Header Question

I have the HiPo manifolds right now. I have upgraded engine with roller cam setup, and wonder if I have anything to gain by switching to headers? And if so, I saw at summit that they have shorty, medium, Tri-Y and full-size. What to go for (if go for)

    Whine From Aod After Repair

After I got the car back from repair (the AOD was taken out/in) I hear a high Pitch tone when going downhill in 3. and the same sound when going in OD in 60 mph. The sound wasn't there before. The pith/tone does not yary, neither in volume or Pitch.
