    If you replace the valve cover gaskets I'd also replace the pvc valve and the screen under it.First try to tighten the valve cover bolts and see if that helps

    Welcome to the site!something doesn't sound right,you need the 02 sensors.You could have a bad idle control motor,I would replace the 02's first and pull the engine codes

    I looked at my 92 5.0 notch and those wires (1 blk and 1 blk with a white stripe) go to the seat, so you are correct

    96/97 explorer's have the gt40 p heads,you would need the gt40p headers.98-01 explorer's/mountaineer's have the gt40's , what ever head you use (gt40 or gt40p) I would change the valve springs

    Sometimes people put to much oil on the K&N filter's causing the air meter sensor to become dirty and not read right.You can buy a spray on cleaner @ the auto parts store.The problem with your air filter could be the Hot air being sucked in the air meter from the hot air backwash of the radiator
