    I bought mine used :) Faceplated though, the previouse owners didnt know how to drive a faceplated trans ;p I tried to get a 3550 but everyone on corral at the time wanted way to much for them.

    smashed up the stang....

    I've done that in my escort, well...It was in an accident so the latch didnt grab the hood right...Down the road about 45 seconds and just like you had, Hood poped up about 3 inches froze for a split second and then BOOM.... Probably the scariest thing i've had happen while driving.
