    New platform

I had thought the S197 (or DC2?) was too large before I bought one, now I am used to it. But I was surprised to see, one day at the track, it actually looked to be larger than a 69 Mustang. 69 Mustangs always look like bohemoths in photographs, but up close they are pretty good compact size...

    Anniversary Present from the Wife

okay, thats great, but make sure you get her some jewelry. You've got to reciprocate you know. I have learned that you can never go wrong with Jewelry. It always sort of bugged me because it has no purpose, but my wife explained that is exactly why women like it. You are willing to spend a...

LOS ANGELES MUSTANG & MUSCLE CAR SHOW AND CRUISE AT GALPIN AUTO SPORTS!!

Boss 281 huh? There is something about the word Boss, and the number 281 that dont seem to go together. I am not bashing the car, I am sure it is great, but is it Boss? Seems like a rip of the badge.

    New platform

you know, think it may have been GM that invented the idea of a new style car for each model year. As that became expensive, it evolved into a new style car for every 4-6 years. I am not sure it is all that necessary. GM only did it so people would buy new cars. Think of how many times a...

    First mod ordered

my first mod was the all weather floor matts, though that hardly counts, so maybe I'll say my first mod was a 3D Carbon Eleanor Grill, which I just sold on ebay last week. Congrats on the boomtubes. You'll love them. I get comments on mine all the time. It really is an amazing sound...

Driving with the TCS turned off

I have an SCT tuner and set it to "default off". Couple things happened with the TCS that irritated me. one: I actually forgot to turn it off at the drag strip one night. That sucked. I was lucky enough that I did not try a burnout, but the launches still felts all jacked up. I thought I...

    4.30 Gears

oh, I forgot to ask. Eaton Posi? Is that what comes stock on the car? Or is this an upgrade? I was just doing a burnout while turning today, and noticed it seemed to take forever for my inner wheel to lock up. Sort of sucked. I think the stock limited slip diff in this car is a little on...

    4.30 Gears

4.30s will put you around 2800rpms cruising at 75mph. Thats pretty high IMO, but you may feel differently. You might try getting on the hwy, putting it neutral, and revving to 3000 just to see how it feels.

    Booze Brothers Racing Mustang

Have you come across that article on Edmunds.com, "Confessions of a car salesman"? Its an interesting read. I especially liked the part when the author said he would be a good salesman because he was a "car guy". I had always thought the same thing. When I bought my first car, I was dealing...

    New pics - Lowered

yup, I am pretty well convinced that a lowered car with rake, larger rear tire, SHR painted flush quarter window louvers, black wheels, and the GT500 rear spoiler are the way to go. Is this right, or do I just spend too much time on stangnet?

    Booze Brothers Racing Mustang

same thing happened to me 3-4 years ago. I just said okay and never gave the STi another thought. I was not really in the market for a new car, but wanted to see what an STi was all about. I am sure they could have sold me on it, I was able to afford it. Instead, I just let the desire for a...

Have lowering springs? Who did it

here are some techniques I found while doing research. okay, this guy got lucky: Fast forward to the 1:00 minute mark: In any event, a strut compressor is free so... cost benefit analysis... I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURY AND DEATH CAUSED BY READING THIS POST.

    Suspension work over

Lowering springs are like crack. The first hit is always free. You get lowering springs for cheap, and then the suspension modding begins and soon enough your 2300 in the hole. Strut Mounts. Dampers. (go with FRPP dampers if you have FRPP springs, you may want some KONI Yellows or...

    Fed Ex was here today!

yup, I think you'll like those dampers. I have the steeda dampers with steeda springs and you can really tell when the two are engineered together. My car can take bumps MUCH better than before, and I can hear the dampers doing there thing. phishhhh phishhh. as I hit the speed bump. The...

OK...So Im a suspension idiot, ill admit!

yup, it took me 6 months of research before I was comfortable making the leap into suspension modding. I can say, there are a lot of opinion out there. No one really knows, because no one has actually installed and tested all the options. I would not be surprised if Steeda springs are made...

    Post Pics of Your Mustang

:nice::nice: I am jealous. Vista blue with a glass roof. I would have gone that rout had I found one. Dont get me wrong, I like my alloy color, but... there aint nuthin like a Blue Ford. (with white stripes even better)

:rlaugh: Nice new Avatar Wind Farmer. Did you tell her she was more popular than your Mustang on the Mustang forums?

which one would you have and why?

well... I would have to drive them all first. When can you set-up the test drive? :D It is a tough decision, but probably go with the Maclaren. Those are susposed to be really amazing, sort of a perfection in making a lightweight racer. Though I might go with a Ford GT (We probably all...

Have lowering springs? Who did it

I know, springs compressors look pretty scary, especially when you have a good understanding of the huge forces they are compressing. But. I "rented" some spring compressors from AutoZone for free. You give them a 50 deposit, and they give it back to you when your done. Once I worked...
