    Need turbo pistons

The Speed Pro pistons from Summit are identical to the factory pistons. It shouldn't be an issue to replace just one. You'll still end up buying a complete set of rings though.

Rering and new bearings in 91LX 2.3L: Any reason I cant use 87 turbo rods and pistons

If you don't plan on turbocharging the '91 motor, you'll be really sorry you used the turbo motor pistons. The drop in compression will give that motor barely enough power to out run a sugar-buzzed 3 year old girl on a tricycle. Stick with the cast pistons from the '91 or if you can't live...

    posi rear end

originally yes, but anymore it's a universal term for limited slip. It's like saying Q-tip instead of cotton swab. Don't let the purists know I said it though. They'll make me write Trak-Lok 1000 times on the chalk board. :)

    posi rear end

The 8.8 out of a 5.0 car is a bolt for bolt swap, but the main brake line coming from the master cylinder will need to be relocated to the opposite side. The Turbo coupe rear will work, but I think it's a little bit wider (even the drum brake versions). Both are probably the easiest to do...

    I cannot pull DTC's from 1991 2.3 Vert

I doubt you're doing anything wrong, but here's a page of info that may prove useful. Try pulling KOEO codes using the MIL light and see if that works. I don't know this for fact first-hand, but I believe I've run across posts by folks with the same problem that ended up with a bad ECU...

    Bellhousing

Only the bell from another T5 2.3 will work. Watch out for 87-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupes. They have a unique hydraulic clutch arrangement. If you're planning major performance upgrades, there's a couple of outfits that make adapters for Windsor bellhousings to bolt to a 2.3 but you'll also...

    Timing Belt Skips

I owe YOU the apology. I'm sorry. That was rude. Anyway, Did they check the crank key? It's not common to see an issue with them unless they lost the original key and used another that "almost" fit or fit "close enough" There's not much of the key that holds the crank sprocket so if it...

    Timing Belt Skips

I got an idea. Why don't you tell us what all has been done thus far and we can go from there?

    Timing Belt Skips

Did they put the right belt on the car? There were two different tooth patterns. round and square. The teeth should be an exact match. I'm pretty sure you should have square-tooth sprockets.

What did you find on #1 that tells you it's the one misfiring?

    92 convertible clock...

There was no clock option available. The factory radio had a clock though. If you have no plans to install a radio later, that would be just as good a place as any to put a clock.

    towing w/ a manual

Interesting. If you pull the driveshaft, make sure you pick up a tailshaft plug to keep fluid in and road gunk out
  14. R

    towing w/ a manual

Only if it's an automatic. The shafts in the manual will still turn and splash lube when towed.

    Timing Belt Specs

You're crossing up ignition timing with camshaft timing. Two different things. The marks you're looking for are not numerical. There are pointers on the cam gear, auxiliary shaft gear and on the crank gear. Each one needs to be pointed in the right direction at the same time. Rotate...

    92 won't crank

Same place you'd start on a non sensor/computer car. Check grounds, starter solenoid, ignition switch, starter and all the wiring in between.

2.3 power after rebuild not up to expectations

Double check cam timing especially with the adjustable pulley.

    steering wheel play???

Take a look at the rag joint. It's a round rubber thing at the steering joint just above where the shaft from the column meets the rack. It may not even be there if it's that bad. Replacement is fairly easy and the part is typically in the HELP! section at the local parts store.

    Engine light

You misread the codes when you got the 23. That model year only used 3 digit codes. Earlier models used 2 digit codes, but never was there an EEC-IV ecm that used both.

    Engine light

yup, what SVO1 said. Codes will be 223 and/or 224
