Who Had their II before the internet?

Yes and no. I had 3 II's before the internet, but sold the last in 1990 because I bought a new Mustang, and never thought I'd miss it. Needless to say, I regretted it for the next 14 years (a lot), and if it were NOT for the internet, I probably wouldn't have one in my garage again...

    Need engine help :(

Yeah, I was trying to say don't simply replace the radiator without addressing the cause of the problem. I guess I can see where it might seem that I was telling you to try keeping the current radiator and just get an electric fan. That's not what I meant though :D

    Need engine help :(

Turning down your fuel mixture, and throwing in a new/clean set of spark plugs would probably be enough to get it started. I'd look into an electric fan setup before I bought a new radiator too. A 74 with a V8 is always a tight squeeze for even a little flex fan. Once you rev high enough...

76 cobra II original parts & specs.

There are two different kinds of cobra emblems for the grill, one that mounts the exact same as the pony, and then the clip on plastic type. I was thinking the 76 had the same mount on style for both the cobra and pony, but I could be wrong.

    Mustangs Unlimited spoiler/valance combo?

I haven't seen any photos of it on a car, but I think it would look similar to this, only it would hang a bit lower and not so flush with the bumper. I think it would look like a cross between a king air dam and a cobra chin spoiler. If you get it, you will definatly have a unique look...

    Mustangs Unlimited spoiler/valance combo?

You must have included the # sign by mistake or something. This is the part that comes up: www.mustang-unl.com/images/X1033-B.jpg Of course this isn't exactly what you are looking for either because this is supposed to mount to your existing valance, which you do not have. Try E-mailing...

    Bypassing heater core

Well, if you're half as dumb as I was back in high school, it could get you about killed!!! LOL You just reminded me of a time about 15 years ago when my old Cobra's core started leaking, so I just looped the two long hoses together temporarily until I got another heater core. Later, I had a...

    idle video

I could only get the video to play with quicktime, but it sounds pretty tough :nice: Incedentally, I saw a pinto (other than the boneyard) for the first time in several years a couple of weeks ago. It was a little old lady about 85, with a scarf on her head, at the gas station. I didn't...

What should I get as a daily driver?

You know, there are always 40 different model years of Mustangs to pick from. Some with pretty decent gas milage. Food for thought. Speaking of food.... About the Japan car owner calling a Mustang a ricer, from the other thread? Tell her you'd love to see her go looking in Detroit for rice...

Is the Mustang II worth getting?

Here is what you are looking for: It will be attached to the top (or bottom) of the radiator support. Besides CB it could also have CBR for an original Cobra II. The entire buck tag, door jam, and vin decoder info can be found here: http://www.mustangii.net/vin.asp There are no real...

Mustang II, a Forgotten American Icon

You know, now that you mention it, I just realized that I've never seen one in person. That is, unless my memory is failing me at the moment, and I've liked II's since the "Cobra bites man" ads. Of course if you divide 4,318 by 50 states plus Canada, there were only like 75 per. I bet not...

    Cobra II Clone

I guess the fenders have the vin too, but it's not unusual to replace fenders on a car that old. BTW, I don't see a problem with what you are doing at all. If you convert enough parts from one to the other, where do they draw the line anyway? It's not like one's stolen. You could say the...

Removal of chrome around windows help?

Do NOT pry on the trim! What you need to do is remove the door cards for the door trim, the interior panels for the quarter panel window trim, this will reveal the trim retainer screws. For the front & rear windows, try to roll the trim away from the glass by hand, and peek underneath to view...

Another story of the cobbled together mustang II

The sad bit of irony there is that, if they did this, they couldn't get as much money from you because they hadn't "fixed" it yet! :rlaugh: :bs:

    Rear Louvers

Of course you should put them on! That's what you got them for, and besides, it's only a few small holes. IMO, they're the finishing touch to any II hatchback, especially if you already have the quarter louvers on :nice: If you don't wan't them, I could use some new ones :D
