    my hyd. clutch install

Me too. I have JMC hydraulic with power brakes. Do some research on this forum, you should find a lot of threads on the subject. You will need to get an OEM style Bendix booster in order to fit both. That is what I used and it works great.

    big cam low vacuum

My vacuum is right at 12 inches and my power brakes work fine. You might be right on the bubble, but if you can get it to maintain 12, you would be fine with PB.

    big cam low vacuum

You can and should adjust your idle micture on the carb for max vacuum at idle as well. You might pick up a little between this and timing. Base timing should be between 12-16 degrees (my 347 likes about 16).

    looking for fathers day present

Welcome to Stangnet. I think it's awesome you are looking to get your dad something for his Stang for Fathers Day:nice: I'm not familiar with the trim piece you describe for a 66, but they did make a rear panel overlay for the 67/68 Mustangs. Did it look something like this?:

    Dumb oil pan capacity question

Well I changed my oil today and put in 8 qts of fresh Mobil 1. I marked a new line on the dipstick - I didn't measure it but it was about an inch higher up on the stick. I'll keep an eye out for oil around the timing cover and if so, will drop back a quart. Thanks for the input guys.

    Mice!

Little bastards chewed a hole through my original and perfect condition headliner 2 years ago. Pisses me off :Damnit: I am going to try the mothballs inside the car and decon outside this year when I put it up. I still haven't replaced the headliner because I really don't want to pull the...

    Gauge Wiring with pics

I'm not sure those plastic guage supports are any better since they are supposed to replace the metal housing & support. So I guess the advantage to using the plastic is it's already cut for the guages, but the support is weakened. I have also read that some of the guage lighting uses the...

    Dumb oil pan capacity question

I guess I was thinking that the dipstick is per spec for a 302 block, therefore must extend to the same level from the bottom of the block, so it wouldn't matter what pan was under it. Of course the opposite should also be true - that the 8 qt oil pan was built per spec for the 32 block to hold...

    Dumb oil pan capacity question

I feel a little silly asking this, but I need to know, so here goes. I am running this Milodon 8 quart oil pan on my 347 and using this Ford Racing oil dipstick mounted on the front timing cover. My question is my dipstick shows full with only 6 quarts of oil, but I was expecting to use 8...

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

Did you ever verify that the avance isn't locked out on your distributor? What stop bushing and spring combo is installed?

    Gauge Wiring with pics

Looking really good Aero! This is a project that is high on my list, so am always interested in how people are mounting the guages in the bezel, especially 67/68 bezels. How are your guages connected, is that JB weld or something similar? Are you going to use anything else to hold them in or...

Anyone know of a correct looking 67-69 dual exhaust tip in 2.5"?????

Looks good Pete. Is the section you weld on made of stainless? Also, is the weld wire stainless? Would be a shame to deal with rust after having these made.

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

I think the 2 different part numbers reflect hydraulic roller and hydraulic flat tappet. I based on the part# in his sig, I believe he is using the flat tappet. Jegs has the firing order posted for this cam: 35-246-3 - Comp Cams 'Xtreme Energy' Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts Details...

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

Others will have to verify, but I think you are using the wrong firing order for the cam you are using. The correct firing order (based on threads i have read) I believe should be 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. Does the cam card list the firing order to use? You are using the XE274H cam, correct?

    Help Diagnose my Fuel Problem

Are you running a fuel regulator? I would suggest getting a fuel pressure guage installed so you can monitor (from the engine compartment) what is happening at different RPM's. I think it is pretty common for the fuel to go back down in the fuel filter once the engine is shut off. You should...

Anyone know of a correct looking 67-69 dual exhaust tip in 2.5"?????

Agreed, I'm sure there are at least a dozen people on this forum alone that would be interested in having these made. post some pics Pete!

Anyone know of a correct looking 67-69 dual exhaust tip in 2.5"?????

There are a lot of dual tip, even with rolled lip that fit 2 1/2" exhaust, however the problem is getting something to fit within the cutouts in the rear valance, which is about 4 1/2" wide if memory serves me. Most of the tips I have come across are 6"+ and would require cutting the valance...

    Rev limiter setting?

I'm wonderring what others have their rev limiters set to? My engine is a 347 with AFR 185's, hydraulic roller cam, lifters & rockers, RPM Air intake, Holley 670cfm, Hooker comps. It's been set to 5800 rpm, but I seem to hit it a lot if I do a burn out or launch aggressively. I would rather...
