Anyone know of a correct looking 67-69 dual exhaust tip in 2.5"?????

Hey Pak, Did you ever get your exhaust tip issue resolved? I'm getting sick of looking at the 2.5" straight pipe out the back and am trying to figure out the best option. I am now thinking I will be forced to go with an oval design, similar to what was used on the 70 Stangs I believe, but...

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

Not true, he can check to see if the advance has been locked on his distributor, which would explain his timing problem. His symptoms point this way, however someone would have had to intentionally locked the advance. Not sure if this is a new distributor for him, something he bought used...

    Destroyed Power Steering Pulley

My 68 pulley was pressed on and required the tool Barn pointed to. Did they switch to screw on in 69?

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

Is your distributors advance locked out? There is a procedure documented in the MSD distributor manual on page 4 regarding locking out the centrifugal advance. I believe this is done for race applications where they are using a computer to control the advance. Did you ever perform this...

(I think) Timing chain issue... might explain dyno/starting/timing issues..

A few things come to mid regarding your timing problem: 1)Are you certain you are using the #1 cylinder plug wire? 2)Are you sure your timing gun is working properly? 3)What type of plug wires are you using? MSD specifically states that you need to use helically wound wires and not solid core...

    68 Mustang Lacks Power

Yes, pull them all and lay them out on a piece of paper labeled with the cylinder number they came from. This way you can see if you are having problems with any particular cylinder. Report back what you find - a picture is worth a thousand words. If they are all white, then you are running...

    68 Mustang Lacks Power

Have you pulled your plugs to look at them yet? Might help to tell if it is super lean or too rich. We will need more clues to help you figure this out. Keep track of the cylinder each plug is removed from.

Instructions on how to jet a Holley Street Avenger?

It is very easy, but rather than just guess at which jets are best, I am going to locate and schedule some time for a test & tune session with a local dyno shop. The carb was so lean before, I didn't want to schedule a session until I got it in the safe zone. Regarding the reference to...

    68 Mustang Lacks Power

Strange if it is intermittent. Speaking from experience when I first got my new motor running, double check that you have the correct firing order for your cam. There are 2 different firing orders for the small block. I was off on a couple of plugs and although it seemed to run well at idle...

    68 Mustang Lacks Power

Welcome to Stangnet. Gonna need some more information and description of the problem. When you say it has "no power", does this mean the engine bogs under heavy throttle? What other symptoms do you have? What carb and ignition system are you running?

Instructions on how to jet a Holley Street Avenger?

I swapped my jets this weekend and it made a tremendous difference. I swapped the primaries from 65 to 69 and secondaries from 68 to 71. I also swapped my vac secondary spring from the stock silver to the lighter yellow and it kicks in more aggresively (sooner), which is the way I like it...

Instructions on how to jet a Holley Street Avenger?

The secondaries are 3 steps richer from the factory. It would make sense to me to bump them both up proportionally - Primary bump to 68 and secondary bump to 71. Where is Dhearne when you need him?

Instructions on how to jet a Holley Street Avenger?

I am going to rejet my Street Avenger 670 this week as well. The stock jets are 65 primary, 68 secondary. I was told to only change the primary jets and am planning to go to either 68 or 69. Am going to leave the scondary jets alone. Anyone have an opinion on this?

    Replace Emergency Brake Handle

That is very odd Geordie. My guess is the handle assembly you have in your car is from a different year/model Ford that got swapped in at some point, but that is just a guess. I suggest you simply drill a hole in the new handle to align with your assembly and be done with it.

    Rear end trouble

I agree based on the picture. Looking at the 2 new leafs side by side, they appear to be different lenngth. Maybe it is just the angle the pic was shot at, but something doesn't look right. I would double check the part numbers you received versus what was ordered just to be sure they didn't...

    Popping under quick throttle opening

That sounds really bad, definately stop driving it until you identify the problem. If it is backfiring through the carb, it might be possible that you have the firing order wrong. You should verify the firing order based on the cam you have installed. Eliminating the simple things first is...
