    Explorer Heads

96-mid97 explorers had gt-40's, and mid97-2000 explorers came with gt40p's.

    Lincoln 5.0

Actually, those motors were only around 160 hp, and had the old e6 heads with a 50mm throttle body, and intake opening. My dad has one and i'm putting the e7's and my stock intake on that in the next couple weeks, definately can't hurt haha.

how do u tell a visual difference in a C4 and C6 tranny?

That would be an AOD as suggested, not a c6 or c4. I believe they stopped installing c4's and 6's in LTD's/Crown Victoria's in 1980.

    part-throttle miss?

Cap, wires, plugs, and rotor are all new, forgot about them. I'm pretty sure it's vacuum realted actually, i'm gonna go change intake gaskets and see if it helps, cause it certainly isn't gonna make it run any worse. I've got the stuff to switch to mass-air, i just haven't gotten around to it.

    part-throttle miss?

What could cause a miss/bucking at part throttle? It seems to clear out and run pretty good once you get over 1/2 throttle, but i can't even try to maintain a steady speed or the thing bucks and misses like crazy. I've already changed the TPS and MAP sensor, neither of which seemed to change...

Help me Identify my new Tranny

That is the correct number for a 1994 wc t5 from a cobra.

    Dirt Track Slicks?

I don't know about American Racers or the McCrearys, but I've seen Hoosier dirt tires used, and they work better than any street radial you're going to find. If they end up being hoosiers that you get, look for the 26.5 dirt bozz (not all will say dirt bozz, some will just have an a-40 stamped...

Hey M. Yount, figured out crappy mpg!!!

Estimating how much gas is left, and how many miles you think you can go will give not give you a very accurate number IMHO. I've run my car to the point where I thought I was on fumes, and don't remember ever putting in the full 15.4 gallons, maybe 14.5, but never over 15. So if you estimate...

    92 Mustang 5.0HO in 89 Crown Vic

I'm pretty sure that the problem is being caused by the re-wiring of the injectors. The crown victoria came with multi-port fuel injection, so it just fires batches of injectors instead of doing it individually like in a sequential fuel injection setup. Now that you've changed the location of...

Lincoln Mark VII - Everthing Compatable?

Actually not all 87 mark vll's had the HO engine, only the LSC's did. The rest of the cars had the non-HO 302 that was used in the thunderbird. And as he stated, it would have e6's on it if it's an 87.

    Harmonic balancer.

I would pull the serpentine belt and start it up and see if the vibration is still there. I recently had identical symptoms, pulled the belt, started it up, no vibration. The bearing was gone in the water pump and causing an intermintent vibration up around 2000 rpms. If it still vibrates...

    5.0 Truck Heads??

All of the 302 engines that were put in trucks after 1988 are roller blocks. They still used a flat tappet cam until 1995 though.

    Cobra motor(w/65mmTB)+FREE 70mm TB=?

The TB opening on the cobra is only 65mm, so you won't gain anything, you actually might lose a little bit with the switch to a 70mm. Unless the intake has been opened up a little bit, I think you should leave the 65mm on there for now.

    Solid Motor Mounts info

I have moroso solid mounts, and I don't have any real noticable vibrations. There is a little more vibration coming through the car than with the stock mounts, but it's certainly not anything that's unbearable.

Post Mustang vs. Camaro stories here

I think you may want to reconsider racing the 99 SS. It's a whole different ball game when going from an lt1 to an ls1. Last camaro I raced was a 92 Z28, I was just on my way back from work when I saw a teal camaro pull out on the highway behind me. I didn't think much of it until I came up...

AFR 185's on stock short block.

I believe they were refering to the tfs-stage1 cam that would reduce piston to valve clearance even more than the stock cam, but I could be wrong.

    Installed AFPR and now...

The regulator isn't supposed to allow all of the fuel to drain back into the tank after the car is shut off. The reason it's taking longer to start is that the pump is having to fill the fuel line again every time you start the car.

Car running hotter than it should..

Does the car run even hotter if it's under load, or does it just stop climbing at 200? If it continues to climb past 200 when you put a load on it then you have a problem, otherwise you're probably worrying needlessly. And yes, watter wetter does provide corrosion protection and lubrication...

    Breaking in new motor?

I wouldn't worry about the 55mph limit really, but I agree with the 500 miles of mixed driving. Don't be afraid to give it quick WOT runs during those 500 miles either. After 500 miles let it eat. I honestly wouldn't be afraid to drive 50 miles then give it hell.

    Question about 91F150 and 5.0's

The f150 uses a non-HO motor with different firing order than the HO. You can put an HO motor in there, but you'll have to use all the accessories and wiring from the pickup and change the firing order to an HO. Another option to look into would be the explorer 5.0's, they come with the...
