    yes or no for gears?

I would have said the same thing, but apparently the tach works with the Tremec so I figured it was something in the tranny. Either way, something was wrong for it to be showing 2500rpm's at 45mph.

    yes or no for gears?

I don't want to be argumentative, but there was something wrong with your tranny if it was turning that many rpm's in od with 3.73's. With a properly operating lock-up with an aod and 3.73's you should be going 70-75mph at 2500rpm's. And FWIW a t-5 has a 0.68 overdrive, while the aod has a...

    Kumho Tire comparisons...

I've got the 711's on my car right now and horrendous is an understatement on the snow handling. I had to take my car out for a week or so while putting a tranny in my truck, and it was like the automotive version of bambi on ice. For a day to day tire, they're not bad, but neither the 711's...

    Are they Stock or GT40??

f3ze-aa would be the regular GT40's. F7ze-aa would be the casting number on gt40p's, just in case anybody was wondering.

ARP main bolts, call for 65 ft-lbs., accidentally went to 75, what should I do?

You would probably be just fine leaving it at 75 ft-lbs, but I would still back them off then re-torque them to 65 ft-lbs since that's where you checked the clearances.

what ford vehicles can donate the 5 lug conversion?

Turbo coupes are 4 lug, so you'll still need to swap axles and rotors on that rear to.

I can order this CAM right?

Yes you can use the e303 in the mountaineer block.

    Comp Cams Dual pattern???

The cam specs on that cam are 218/224 @ .050 with a 112 LSA, I don't think that it would be to unruly to run on the street every day.

smart to build a high compression hyper 306?

If you go from 9.0:1 to 10.0:1 you probably wouldn't gain a lot of HP, maybe 10-15 at peak. You would however fatten up the torque curve before and after the peak HP and TQ occurred. You would also notice a little quicker throttle response with the higher compression motor. Oh and yes...

smart to build a high compression hyper 306?

I would stick with 10.5:1 compression since you're going to be running cast iron heads. The gain in power from 10.5:1 to 11:1 wouldn't be worth the added hassle of dealing with the strong possibility of detonation.

    Comp Cams Dual pattern???

When looking at the cam specs, you should be looking at the duration and lobe seperation as the main things that affect driveability. The total lift has little effect on how the car idles/drives. I went to crane's website and looked at the specs on the cam it looks like it would be just fine...

    Question regarding timing cover

I had a similar problem after putting my motor together, turns out it was the gasket between the water pump and the metal plate on the back of the water pump.

Explorer cam vs. Stock GT cam?

I'm going to be doing the same swap in my 90 f150 in a month or so and I plan on going with the explorer cam for the extra low-end torque that's needed in the truck. If I didn't use the truck to pull anything or haul stuff and drove a lot on the highway I would probably go with the mustang cam...

    Moroso solid mounts?

I've got the solid moroso's, and I don't get a lot of vibration into the car. Sure it's more than the stock mounts, but certainly not unbearable. I've never had a problem with them loosening up either. I also have the solid tranny mount.

    Head gasket Questions

If you haven't taken off the other head then you'll be ok with just replacing the side that you have already removed.

Will someone please verify these used parts for me?

Those are the correct casting numbers for the regular gt40's, I'm not sure about the roller rockers.

Help with rear tire size. Please read. Need traction!

I've run 255's on pony wheels with the quad shocks in place, and they fit just fine. I have also run the same brand and type of tire in 245's and couldn't tell any big difference in traction. As somebody stated earlier, lowering the car reduces weight transfer which hurts you in straight line...

    H/C/I Question

I would say that as long as the car's not burning oil and a compression test looks good, then go ahead with putting the H/C/I on the stock shortblock.
