    Help radiator neck

THANKS Well that is what mine is too (.770 - .780). My caps are about the same or even less. That would mean they aren't really sealing (with any spring pressure). I'll go look tomorrow and try and find a "deeper" cap. Hopefully that is it. Thanks,

    Holley Street Avenger?

street avenger I used one first time on my 302 in a 65. Easy bolt on and tuned well. I used 570 due to only 302 and runs fine. I'll use another next time.

    sport seat foam and upholstery

Sport seats I did it on my 65 fastback. The seats feel great, good support, and I could add the headrests for safety. Only issue is that are much higher now than stock. I am 6' and it is close to being tight on headroom and room around steering wheel. Seats are comfortable though and I...

How did you get your gauge wiring through the firewall?

go ahead Go ahead and drill the hole, find a rubber gromet at the parts store and drill the correct size for it. I'd suggest a larger hole, because you will run other stuff through there later (trust me). Just be sure to find a safe spot.

For those of you who did your own wiring....

wiring tape Look at National Parts Depot and buy their wiring tape. It is just like factory with no sticky. However, it will when you stretch it, stick to it's self and works great. I just did my whole front wiring with lot's of extras with it. Looks original and clean.

    security for your daily driver

Lots of stuff I have key lock shifter handle, locking hood pins, Ignition kill, electric fuel pump kill and batery in trunk with key shut off switch. They still can get it on a rollback, but they would have to drag the rear tires.

    front suspension and brakes

RRS I have the RRS Stage 1 on my 65 Fastback. I didn't notch the towers as I'm running a 302, but it would be easy to do. Love the quality and ride of the kit. It's expensive, but works great and no issues with it. If you can afford it, it's a great deal.

If it's like mine was, it's just the gasket next to the engine block. They get old and leak. Kind of a pain to change, but fixed my leak in the same place

    BATTERY RELOCATION....

think about it I just did my 65 FB and used the 94 mustang starter with solenoid on it. Run the start wire down to it and the cable from the trunk up to the starter. Another wire from that to the hot cable to inside and you are set. Very clean on the pass side of engine compartment now. I...

Kick panel Speakers - AC Vent problem?

Worked for me I just put the kick panel w/ speakers and the Vintage Air vents on my 65. No issues. I mounted the vents using the two holes up into the dash and didn't put any holes in the kick panels They seem pretty sturdy and fit fine. Was even able to remove the kick panels without...

    Help! 289 engine install

help If you use a carb plate, just be sure the transmission end is downward some. Not level. Should go right in. Need some one to use a floor jack or by hand to level it up as you let the motor down after it clears the firewall. I installed a 428 CJ with the auto trans attached in a 68...

    frame rail rust!!!

done it They make shorter rail replacement kits for like back 2 feet. Sound like thats all you need. No big deal, take good measurements so your spring mounts go back right. I've never done the whole piece (including the rear touque box). That might be more involved.

Heavy vibration after TCI Trans and TC install

check the mount Be sure you check or replace your transmission mount. That caused the same problem on my 68 a while ago. It had lost the "rubber" action and cause a vibration at 45 - 55 mph, pretty bad. New piece fixed it all.

    Prepping, Rust Conversion, Sanding, ????

Wire Brush Use a wire brush mounted on a 4" grinder or bigger. It will smooth the rust down and give a nice clean, rust free, surface to paint. I'd primer w/ rust primer, then paint. Just did mine and it looks new.
