C4 questions (BM shifter kit and AOD)

I just got finished puttin the transpak in my C-4, and personally I'm not really that impressed. It does make a difference, everything is much smoother and the shifts faster, but I was expecting something more that would push you back in your seat every shift...not so much.

Do I need an air comp. to change out valvesprings

Alright, I know I've been talking about it for about the last year, but I'm finally ready to change my valve springs out, I've got em bought and sittin at my feet. IM REALLY GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME. Thing is, my shop manual says to screw in an air hose into the the CC through the spark plug...

    S10 challenges mustang

I saw some really old guy with fat slicks and loud exhaust on an S-10 roll up at Sear's Point one day. Everyone laughed. He ran a mid 11 if I remember right...whatever it was, it made everyone :jaw: :jaw: :jaw: I've seen it more than once with guys with these tiny little trucks blow the...

    Air Filters

Its not something you should immediately dump your cleaner for. Next time you need a new one just buy a K&N. I doubt you'll notice much of a difference...for me I thought I felt a little bit better throttle response, but that could easily be pychological.

Bought first part / Fuel line ?? / Fuel cell

As far as the solenoid goes, I couldn't tell ya for sure, all my wires go into tubing and I haven't cared to figure out what they all are. I hate electrical. I don't know about the fuel cell being the first thing you need... but if your tank is already being replaced and you plan on racing...

post pics of your 65-66 tailpipes!

Well, here's my 2.5" chrome slant tips out the GT valance. Unfortunately...you can't really see em all that well unless you're up close. I'll try to take a closer pic tomorrow, it's kinda late now. I keep em nice and polished, but it doesn't even seem to matter. If I did it over, I woulda...

    Edelbrock coil springs

Most people get their suspension stuff from mustangsplus www.mustangsplus.com I'd imagine the BB springs would be stiffer, but not sure.

Dry Crack or Squeek? Front Suspension!

Another one for the sway bar. I was convinced my squeak was the upper control arm, which is old and probably gonna need to be replaced soon. When I finally did a good search, I found my sway bar was rubbing. How to fix it I don't know... maybe notching a piece of the frame where it's hitting...

    289 upgrade suggestions

Well the "upgrade list" is a never ending one, but as you said, it's the budget that's the hard part. What kind of cam do you have in? Does it match well with your intake? *New Ignition Control *New distributor *Roller Rockers *Gears (unfortunately I'm in the same boat with the...

    Shift Kit Aftermath...shifter linkage?

    Shift Kit Aftermath...shifter linkage?

Just put in a b&m transpak, all is done and together, with one minor problem... it won't go into Low. Goes fine through the rest of the gears, but won't go down into that bottom gear. I do NOT have the fluid in yet, I'm making sure it's hooked up alright before I add the 4 quarts taht takes...

    Wrecked hopes / Fond Memories

Ugh, didn't hear about that, but thats horrible. Poor old guy probably spent more time on that car than he can remember. Definately would not like to crash a classic...I'm pretty sure I'd be impailed on my steering column. That guy deserved what he got, although I'd hate to see it, up the...

    New 66 Advice

Well, just "a 351W" is a little vague for numbers. Depending on how the market changes for these cars over the years...who knows you may get your money back...but it wouldn't be any time too soon. Shouldn't be too tough finding a nice 66 coupe project car. Good luck!

65/66 Tail Light Housings WITHOUT sockets?

I know exactly how you feel. My amp rack gave just enough room for the pigtail to be on, but not come off. I used to use a nut that wedged in between the rack and the pigtail that seemed to find that "sweet spot", but I recently just took the rack out for a while to put new pigtails in...

Ported heads, joke or not ???

haha I heard something like that a long long time ago. Nothing beats the guy who direct ported his nawz by drilling a hole in his valve cover and running a line directly from the bottle into the opening. Though that may have been a joke too...I wish I still had that link.

    Jokes and pranks?

There was a great thread in the off-topic forum a while ago on this... I'll see what I can remember. I think freezing shaving cream, stripping the side off of it so you have nothin but pure frozen shaving cream and leaving it in the guys car in the sun was one. Needless to say, there would...

Any gains in running an ignition box?

Well...it probably wouldn't be much powerwise. You would probably see a small increase in gas milage and a smoother idle. Some have built in rev-limiters, which is always a plus. If you opt for a digital there's a whole lot you can do. If it's worth the cost is based a lot upon how much...

    rear leaf springs

The reverse eyes will lower it more... 1.5" if i remember correctly. Just for comparison, I have 620#s and the 1" shelby drop and 5 leaf mid eye and my rear sits about an inch higher than the front.
