1) How likely is it that overdrive goes out but the other gears shift fine?
Likely...happened to my AODE but usually the other gears wont be far behind!
2) What would the results of a bad tv cable be?
tranny not shifting properly!
3) Should there be tension on the tv cable itself...
Dont get frustrated man....keep wrenching on your car.....! Seems like an honest mistake , you just got the wrong set up from the mid-pipe back . Seems like an exhaust shop can help you with a simple fix but you can also do it yourself . There are aftermarket "dumps" out there which you can...
place your thumb over the #1 cylinder spark plug hole and make sure you feel air rushing out to make sure your engine was at TDC when re-stabbing your distributor .
Any of the above mentioned heads will be fine for your stock bottom end . I think the GT-40 heads are the best bang for your buck heads . Cheap and easy to get a hold of .
How dare you tease us like that!!......I vote instant BAN!!
just kiddin....find someone computer literate and get up some sound...or atleast some pics .
I would go with a nice set of trick flow heads to accompany your intake . You might also want to consider other upgrades and just do them all at once . A good set of RR's , upgrade your fuel pump and injectors , a nice cam - possibly trick flow stage 1 . Also a K&N or other CAI and a good mass...
Subscribing.......I'm curious about doing this repair also . I quick fixed mine with a dent puller and some bondo . This seems like a better fix though .
off topic - what is that thing inside the fender just below the cowl?
The explorer intakes are very siniliar in design to the 93 cobra intake . The design of the lower is the exact same as the cobra and GT-40 intakes and the upper has comparable flow rates to the cobra upper . Some of the explorer intakes had provisions for the EGR (similiar to 89-93 mustangs)...
The GT40P heads require a different header because of the angle of the spark plug hole in the head design . If you try to use standard shorty headers your spark plug boots will be too close to the header causing issues with heat , not to mention being a pain in the ass to change the plugs . You...
I agree with LiquidGT about the plugs . Double check your firing order and make sure its right . If you replaced the cap&rotor double ck TDC and the rotor is at #1 . Is it throwing any codes? sounds like fuel pressure is good , maybe a spark issue or sensor . How does it idle?
yep , no problem . I'm doin the exact same thing as a matter of fact , taking off my 1" spacer , getting shorter valve covers and taking off the cowl hood and going back to the stocker . I just want that "clean stock" sleeper look .
