    429, good or bad idea??

Definately not true. From what I've seen when a 429 and 460 are built similarly, the 429 will make slightly more horsepower and the 460 will make slightly more torque. Personally, I've built a couple of both. And the 429's have been markedly faster. The 429's short stroke makes for a motor that...

converting to 4 corner idle...worth it?

4 corner idle is only useful if you have a VERY rowdy camshaft that cannot be idled down. If you can get your current setup to idle around 800 RPM or lower decently, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Big Block gurus plz... HCI combo

Ported DOVE's should work fine. I'd recommend a Weiand Stealth for an intake. My 1969 Fastback ran 12.60's with a boneyard 429(with stock DOVE's) with a Stealth, headers, an 850 Demon, and 3.50 gears as the only mods. A Fox with similar mods plus 4.11's, a good camshaft, and ported DOVE's should...

My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

76mm C&L meter with stock Fox sensor. On a side note: Got my N2O working this weekend. No problems there either.

My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

Just thought I'd update this thread. I did get the new sensor and have run it. No change, runs great. Here's the part numbers of the two Fox sensors that work great in my C&L. Original: E9ZF-12B579-AA AFH55-03 New: FIZF-12B579-AA AFH55-03B

Dry nitrous users please step inside

Seemed to run flawless on the 100 shot. Aren't other dry kits, like Zex, utilizing the stock pump all the way up to a 125 shot?

Dry nitrous users please step inside

A pump upgrade is definately in its future. I just wanna know how high I can go with the stocker.

Dry nitrous users please step inside

Finally hooked up my NOS 05115 dry kit today. Went through a whole bottle, jetted at a 100 shot, in about an hour. :nice: Question: How much will the stock fuel pump support? 125, 150, 175? Keep in mind that I believe mine is the original 1989 pump.

Ford's dying faster then i thought

I'm guessing, but I'm sure your dealership is very similar as mine in that most of your work is repeat customers. Every manufacturer makes junk from time to time. And those are the vehicles you are seeing. Here's the list of Ford's I've owned over the last 10 years. All had high mileage when...

Ford's dying faster then i thought

I hear the same complaints from my GM techs every day. Your lack of customer pay jobs is due to dealer's $90+ an hour labor rate. And then techs padding their times doesn't help either. Most of the techs I know use Chilton time plus 2-3 tenths. No one, including myself, wants to spend that kind...

Ford's dying faster then i thought

Since you see them everyday, your view is biased. Just as mine is for GM. Since I've been a GM parts counterman for over 11 years.

Ford's dying faster then i thought

According to this: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SavingandDebt/SaveonaCar/MostDependableCar.aspx that's not the case. Look how high FoMoCo is ranked in quality. Especially Mercury. Ford's problem is the UAW and the current lack of fuel efficient cars that people actually want...

    Those with C&L MAF...opinions wanted.

Will a bigger mass air help with my combo?

A larger mass air meter is an improvement on even a stock 5 liter(was on mine). So it'll definately improve one with H/C/I. I've not heard good things about the Granatelli's though.

How much do gears really help?

I have 3.73's in mine. And if I was planning on keeping the AOD, I would definately have gone with 4.10's. The first gear ratio in the AOD is pretty tall. 4.10's would definately be better for an AOD.

    TIRES?? plz respond!

While not on your list, I recommend Kumho's Ecsta ASX for the money. I'm running(for about a year now) 275/40R17's in the back and 235/45R17's in the front, and couldn't be happier with them. They work great in the wet and stick like glue. I have virtually no tire spin from a start. Mods are in sig.

My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

Since I just happen to have a known good SN95 70mm MAF meter with sensor, I decided to try out the sensor in my C&L meter. The results: Idles fine and seems to run okay under normal driving. However it seems to go very rich under WOT. It's VERY hesitant to rev and the cat's start stinking...

My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

How would an SN95 sensor fair in a C&L meter in a Fox?

My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

I know the meter is larger on the SN95's, but is there a difference between the sensor's on a Fox versus an SN95?

Were you guys using the same sensor on all those cars, or just the meter?
