    Las Cruces Mustangs?

Hey curse, do you know what happend at thunder alley? I heard it was closed, but not sure why. Desert demons does suck. No order what so ever, and a big ass bump right where I shift into second plus I really don't think their times are very accurate. Roswell also closed, man it is starting...

Has any one weighed their lx coupe

I weighed my 88 coupe at the scales at the drag strip, at the time it had no back seat or spare tire, weld drag lites(not skinnies), aluminum heads fiberglass hood and no A/C or smog, with a little less then 1/2 tank of gas and with me in the seat at 185lbs, it was 3020lbs.

    Las Cruces Mustangs?

I am from Alamogordo. We have a mustang club up here. We like to hit the drag strip in El Paso as much as we can. Alot of guys also do the SCCA racing in El Paso as well. We will probably start going back the the track this spring, mayber sooner. Keep in touch on this forum and we can maybe...

    Mach 1 Completly stock...

I got 25mpg driving my Mach from New Mexico to Houston TX driving around 80mph the whole way with 4.10's. Plus 5th gear is so much more usable now. But enjoy what you like. I think the days of cars being worth a ton of money like the 50's and 60's cars are over. But I could be wrong.

    Engine choices, 331 or 347??

The cars is apart right now, changing a few things, but the tfs-r intake was a good change from the gt-40. I know I have never had a 347, but when I was at the track, there was a guy with almost the same setup as me but on a 347, and he was running 11.5's to my 12.1's. He had no problems at...

    Clutch recommendations?

I love my spec stage 2. It holds the power awesome, and I think the pedel feels good.

    Which Intake?

Another vote for Trick flow. But the GT-40 does look better.

    Engine choices, 331 or 347??

I would say 347. Why sacrifice the 16ci for the same money. I wish I would have gone 347, but at the time I built mine, there was still a big stink about the 347 and oil problems so I went 331.

    Which cams?

My friend just had the comp 270's installed in his DD 03 Gt, and it runs great. It idles great and sounds SO GOOD. He also had the patriot stage 2 heads installed. He already has all the bolt ons possible. He does not complain about anything driving it everyday.

Mach 1 The most power all engine. Any ideas?

I agree with what BurlyStang is saying. I was also shifting at around 6700 rpm in every gear. I ran a g-tech on the street one time and lost over .5 seconds off my e.t and gained 4 mph. I know g-techs are not that accurate, but it was consitantly faster shifting at 6k. Try it next time you...

    Electric Fan Which One???

I am running the black magic fan in my 88. I have never had any cooling problems, even in the heat of the southern NM desert. I was going to suggest that, but it looks like a lot of people have had problems with it. Good luck.

Running no thermostat (constantly flowing coolant). What can that do?

I must be the exception to the rule. I have not been running a T-stat for about 2 years, and the car never over heats even it traffic. The only problem I have is that the heater does not work when I am on the highway because the car cools off to around 110 degrees on the autometer gauge...

How long will it take me to remove my 8.8 rear end?

I would say, if you started right after you posted your message, you should be almost done by now. Its only four bolts, two for your UCA'S, and two for your LCA's, two shock bolts, and don't forget your brake line. I would say about a couple of hours if most of the bolts are rusted on. I am...

Hey guys I need some quick easy help. I just got finished redoing the wiring harness in my 88, and I got all the connectors back to where they go but one. I comes out of the harness with the coil connection and the fuel pump wire that goes to the starter silinoid. It is a male tubluar...

WOT relay, can I get rid of it?

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I need the relay itself, but it may be completing a circuit somewhere else. Thanks. Anyone else?

WOT relay, can I get rid of it?

I am trying to hide some wires under the hood, and I was moving the WOT relay that is on the passanger side of the engine bay (under the mass air meter) and I noticed that the wires were messed up. I have deleted my heater, a/c and cruise control, do I need to fix my wiring harness and use it...
