    Gas Cap

Haven't found a pop-off for a 65-66. The billet ones don't look very good. It is just an overlay piece and looks cheap IMO. You might try getting a new gasket for your old cap. Fixed my leak from launches problem.

Header Wrap (just let me explain)

Instead of doing all that you are much better off just Jet Hotting them honestly. You will not like the looks or long term results of doing it a half-assed way.

    Looks good. Keep us updated.

In a 66, does a set of 65 motor mounts drop the engine at all?

The old mounts are not as strong. There is a left and a right. They will not dramatically affect your pinion angle. They will give you more clearance, but be careful of exhaust clearance as the engine will sit 1/2 to 1" lower depending on the application.

Started changing head gaskets tonight and header gasket question.

Make sure to re-torque the header bolts after a couple of hot/cold cycles.

Don't know about your situation, but I have never had any trouble with any Milodons I've used throughout the years.

    Looking at new distributors, recommendations?

Mech's because the car is slower at the track and harder to tune with the nitrous and vacuums secondaries. And yes....I drive it there and back too. Just keep your foot out of it unless you need to move in a hurry.

My heating issues may be over.

Some hoses don't have them. Gates still do I believe. If you don't have one some parts guys will cannibalize one for you from another hose. No spring with a high flow pump can flatten the hose and cut off most of the circulation.......sorta like kinking a garden hose. This can even happen with...

    Looking at new distributors, recommendations?

Mr Hearne has the set up.....otherwise you could go with an MSD 2 wire vacuum advance unit. Matches with your 6A and you can always deep six the vacuum and use the block off plate included to just have mechanical advance. Don't get the 3 wire as some have had trouble with the internal powered...

    My $2000 Ignition - I need help!

Also, the MSD box needs a constant source from the battery and the switched goes to another wire. Please check and make sure you have a very good ground for the box as well. Hook it to the neg post of the battery if need be. Check your wiring here: http://www.msdignition.com/1download.htm

    what shifter for your C4

The pro ratchet also has a T handle instead of the ball. I drive it on the street and race it. Never miss a shift and the unit is NHRA legal for the strip. Nothing worse than going by second into 3...........and lets not talk about into neutral!!!!

    what shifter for your C4

Some people like the cheetah. It is a little harder to mount and takes a bit more work to make it look good with the interior. I like the pro ratchet. You can't miss a shift. http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=products&sid=4&cat=2&subcat=2&pid=21

strength of the early 302 blocks compared to the 5.0 roller blocks

Anything over 450-500 and it could go. There is not enough beef in the cam valley and it splits from there on. Guys have run 600 before, but it was a rarity. Been there done that.

how much power can these bodies handle before you have major problems?

That sounds like a more sensible street car. Believe me.....without a little more tire under that car it would be a PITB driving on the street.

how much power can these bodies handle before you have major problems?

Oh yeah.....I have a cage and I still have cracks in the A pillar and the sail panel. Its a unibody/half frame car. It comes with the territory.

how much power can these bodies handle before you have major problems?

On the spray its close to 700-750 at the wheels depending on the jets. An 8" tread mind you. Needless to say..........usually just spray at the track. 1000+ is easily doable with a turbo. 10.5 guys are hitting almost 2000 with a Dart block stroked out a bit. BUT!!! Unless I missed the mini tub...
