brighter headlights wanted for 68 fastback

You can upgrade the 66 switch to a 68. 14 amp breaker to a 22. Just have to cut off the old switches spacer and JB weld it to the new switch.

The mustang project ones look good in the 66 housing too.

brighter headlights wanted for 68 fastback

Sylvania silverstars work good. It might be your wiring harness causing the dimness though.

    Rack and Pinion conversion kits

Flaming river is ok. Did it in the garage with jack stands. Pretty easy really. Just make sure you check your clearances and talk with them about what exhaust and oil pan you have and any possible clearance issues.

    firing problem

Glad you got it fixed. I was gonna say the firing order was wrong. Went from a 302 to a 351 grind and forgot to reset the order and had the same problem. It'll run....just not in gear or long.

    throttle spring help

The double spring is a spring inside a spring. It should also be mounted to pull in the direction of the cable or rod to close the blades, NOT forward. A double spring is mandated on some classes...not all. Keep from over stretching the springs as this will prematurely wear out the bushing in...

Brass Dist. gear wear with H/V oil pump

+1 on the comp composite gear. Yes....available for most applications including the MSD dizzy. It's what I have and works great.

    Northern Radiators

+1 on a bigger fan. At least a 2200 would be my guess, but a mechanical fan with a shroud should work just fine with your combo.

    Loose shifter?

I wasn't necessarily saying use that site. All of the suppliers sell a bushing kit. Next time shop around....sometimes on the small parts one is cheaper than another when you factor handling and shipping charges. Hope the kit fixes your lose shifter too.

    Head gasket suggestions

What intake are you using? And what block is it? Had the same problem with an RPM performer air gap leak. It was in the rear, but the way the oil runs down it sure looked like it was the head gasket.

Wierd Cooling Issues- never seen this before- help?

Something simple............is the thermostat facing the correct way? Don't laugh...I've seen more of these then I care to remember. The bullet part goes into the engine with the point pointing up or at the radiator.

    Which distributor gear?

I don't believe they are the same. The composite gear is a cool piece....It's been working like a champ for me. Wasted a steel gear before I replaced it.

is my solenoid bad or my starter? hot starter wire??

Hot wire means a bad connection somewhere. Check the connections......especially the grounds. Take em off........clean em......reinstall and see how it works. Battery at 12.5 is good.........need a load tester to see the condition. 13.7 to 14.2 from the alt when the car is running.

rear of the intake or valve covers. Do this before you yank it apart. Try some engine dye to isolate the leak spot.

    northern aluminum radiator

I run my C4 through the Northern Radiator.....then the trans cooler and back to the trans. Constant temp at a safe level is the key. Mine stays the same temp almost all the time and keeps the car consistent tranny-wise at the track and on the street.
