I need some 306ci questions answered

    Timing?

    Friend is annoying. Read on.

Tell him I'll swap my bone stock fuel injected '92 5.0L engine for his stroker if he just wants to putt around! Anyway, he's in the same boat either way. Chevy built 302s too, so I guess he couldn't keep it the stock bore and stroke. 306 sounds like it would be too close to a 305 for him, too...

    exhaust question

Oh... And if you're going for LOUD and still want it to sound good, get MAC Pro-dumps. They're probably going to flow the best as well because they get rid of the back half of the catback which has to curve up and over the axles. You can't really go wrong any way you go, 5.0s just have a great...

    exhaust question

I would say from experience that Bassani is the best quality/fit/performing exhaust on the market. They're probably also the most expensive. Flowmasters sound awesome, but I don't think they perform the greatest. I can't really tell the difference in sound between Flows and MACs, but the MACs...

I need some 306ci questions answered

What MPH did the car trap? Did he have it tuned? I would think it could be any number of things.

Nitrous on a stock bottom end?

I put a NX 150 wet shot my '89 Coupe when I first bought it (with over 100k miles) and sprayed it everywhere I went for about a year. Had a 190 LPH pump, 24# injectors, GT40P heads, Cobra intake, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and that was about it. With slicks and 4.10s the car went...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

I didn't realize 'til you said something that I forgot the CC plates :bang: ! Anyway, that'd be great if the Bilsteins could be modified later on down the road for use with coilovers. However, I'm sure that just these mods alone will keep me happy for a while. It's still nice to know that my...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

Ok, well I think I've made up my mind. I really do appreciate you guys' help. At $600 for the set, the Bilstein's are almost double the price of a set of Tokico's, but if they're worth the price difference, I'm in. So this is what I've finally decided I'm going to start with: - "Sport" valved...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

Yeah, I should have gone with smaller wheels, but there just wasn't a 16" wheel that I liked. The car looks killer with 17s on it and I think I'll leave it regardless of the performance loss. I'm probably getting too serious with the suspension as it is. If I just put springs, shocks & struts...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

I have a plan for the car, but my mind changes daily. It is my daily driver in nice weather. I want it to be fast enough to smoke most things I come across on the street, but I want it to handle decent as well. I basically want something comparable to my '03 Cobra for less $$$. I'm starting to...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

You don't have to tell me, I'm a tire salesman. :nice: I've also done quite a bit of autocrossing the past few years (my father is an autox FREAK!). The tires and wheels were the first thing I did. I've stepped up to some 17x9" Cobra Rs all the way around with 275/40R17 Nitto 555s. The car...

    275's on a fox?

275's Nittos all the way around on 17x9 Cobra Rs here. Fit the wheel perfect and just barely rub in the front and rear.

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

I was also planning on the MM K-member brace. Forgot to mention that. Thanks for the suggestions thus far. Should I get a whole new (stiffer) front swaybar or would just the end links and urethane bushings suffice?

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

I know... I do need to get everything I have now installed. The intake is the biggest hang up. I'm trading my stock pony wheels for a buddies GT40 intake and I'm waiting on him  . I also don't have a welder or a lift, so I can't install the subframe connectors and I don't have enough...

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

No, it's pieced together MM parts. I already have the subframe connectors and some of the other stuff. Plus, I don't really think I need things like the soild steering shaft and aluminum rack bushings that come in the packages.

Good handling combo or waste of $$$?

My '92 LX convertible is basically stock at the moment (mods in sig). I'm going to be doing a blower soon, but I also want to improve the handling somewhat. It doesn't need to be a road race machine (I plan on building another car for that), but I would like it to do better. It is a daily driver...

    Tires for 17x9 Cobra rims

My '92 'Vert has 17x9s all the way around with 275/40/17 Nitto 555s. The rears rub on the fender lips and the quad shocks, but just barely. They fit the wheels perfectly. The fronts rub even less than the rears. I have heard that Nittos are smaller than other brands in the same size. If I had it...
