    190 thousand .... I need to borrow !

That is a good point. I wonder about supercars though. You could, in theory, get a 67 Mustang Shell, and deck it out, but keep the styling conservative, then have something you can drive around town everyday. In a supercar, while I am sure they are amazing to drive, I think you would just...

    190 thousand .... I need to borrow !

yes! :nice: I also suddenly need 190 grand. That is amazing. I would do all that, but with Bullitt exterior instead of eleanor. You know you can get those 67 fastback shells for 12 grand (I think). And then its just a matter of bolt ons.:p

    improving handling

Marc S summed it up very well. I would second that you should not worry about lowering. The stock S197 is very high. Lowering adds a lot of control and balance, and your still going to be higher than some stock vehicles on the road. Plus, your lowering springs are going to be tighter...

    2008 GT Exhaust Recommendation

I have boomtubes and also love them --have received many compliments. If you stay out of the throttle, they are quiet-ish. My neighbors have said that they know when I come and go, but they also said they dont mind because its sounds cool and is not window rattling by any means. That...

Hurst Billet Shifter - Latest edition

I dunno. I keep going back to the transmission oil. If you have the time, its only a few bucks to change out the oil. Even just new oil might help, if you dont want to spring for the Royal Purple. The stock shifter has longer throws, so its giving your synchros more time to mesh...

Hurst Billet Shifter - Latest edition

hey man, sorry to hear that. I've got this video of my Hurst Billet, not sure why it did not occur to me to post it until now.... I had just recently posted it on another shifter thread... anyhow. This is a Hurst Billet, you can see if it shifts any differently than yours. Also, I have Royal...

How bad is it to hit the rev. limiter?

great info guys, thanks. :nice: I am not going to feel so bad for hitting the limiter now.

How bad is it to hit the rev. limiter?

I have hit the limiter a few times, and it feels horrible. Afterwards I have this nagging feeling that I broke something. My is set relatively low, 6500, and I hear I can bring it to 6700 no problem. And, if you go to the track, sometimes you see 4 bangers hitting the limiter at the line...

What shocks to go with Roush springs?

As far as I can tell, and this is an overgeneralization, (see: wrong) there are only three companies that make dampers. Koni, Bilstein, and Tokico. They all make adjustable dampers for those who want to fiddle with the settings. You could get those. But they will be more expensive and you...

9 Exterior Mods, 2 are BoltOns, Can you See Them?

okay, last guess, total shot in the dark, but did you remove the rear defroster on the rear window? Also, just want to make sure, we are not including the license plate holder.

9 Exterior Mods, 2 are BoltOns, Can you See Them?

wow, nice post, this is hard. - you cut more holes in the bullitt grille. - black painted brake calipers other than that I am stumped. The HIDs seem to be missing the little chrome arm that sits in front, but you said this does not include the HIDs....

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

good point. I'll keep that in mind. If I cant afford a turbo, gears are a very likley substitute. Right now I have the 3.31s, so... I may actually own the slowest S197 GT in the country.

    Lets hear some input

personally, I cant standz the fuel doors. But as is said a bagillion times here on stangnet, to each his own. Here are my ideas: - save it and get a turbo - Buy your wife some bling. If you spend more of your extra cash on your car, the wife gets jelous. :p Actually, in all...

    sick of hurst!

strange that everyone has such different experiences. I have the Hurst Billett shifter which is quite a bit different from the regular Hurst. I think it was Hurst's responce to the MGW and the Tri-ax (it looks a lot like the tri-ax). I am also running RP synchromax. I think mine...

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

hey thanks for all the tips. This is exactly what I am looking for. I am not quite ready to buy, still in the research phase, but turbohorsepower and powerhouse are exactly what I had in mind. Hopefully... I'll have the funds to buy from one of them come spring. :nice:

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

I want to sort of restate my question for clarity, and hoping to make another effort at finding an answer. The only turbo kits I can find are very expensive and huge (see helion). They make huge power, but would also require a forged engine parts if used on daily driver for 100k miles. I am...

    mild turbo to overcome altitude

I dont think so. The two cars are pretty evenly matched at sea level. I think the turbo, in this case, made most of the difference. I could actually catch-up in the corners, and then he would just zoom away in the straights. I have an Steeda suspension on my car, so the suspension weakness...
