    Cool story. Yeah, they may not have sold as well as expected, but I do like mine. They (GTO) will be back in 08/09 to continue to chase the ponies around. :) I am interested in the Challenger when it comes out also. Either way, I'm saving my pennies now. Until then, I still need a head/cam...

    I think it would be cool to swap a LS2 into a new GT or Mach 1. It would/should be appreciated by both Ford/Chevy guys. Hell, RX7s/Toyotas are running LS1s

    I am feeling low 13s with my new snow tires (got better traction than my KDWSs...stock tires took off like I was on ice)...haven't tried it since the track closed down for winter.

    Wow! That's going to be nice. Just watch yourself on the roads...lots of viper drivers wrapped their cars around trees and such. Improve your suspension, brakes, and tread.

    My car is an 04A4 and I used to be one of those 14 sec wonders until I learned what burn-outs were. First run with a burnout was 13.7. Now Doc had serious mods so you know he's quick. Net time I hit the track I am getting a set of better tires. My damn snow tires (Dunlop M3s) hook up better...

    I wouldn't exactly say chevys are "has-beens". When I go to the track I see plenty of Nova, Chevelle, Camaros, GTOs and other GM cars that I would gladly trade a 91 GT in for.

    Dude! There are tone of aftermarket parts for the LS1 or Chev gen IIIs! Also, I am sure you can still find parts for the good 'ol chev 350. Bang for the buck for sporty cars/performance/price has to be an SRT4.

    Well, the title of this thread was 04 GTO vs GT so I had to answer. BTW the 04 GTO is only 50 HP less stock...however, a set of headers and cam will launch it smartly past any 05 on the dyno. Just FYI.:jaw:

    Well, let's talk reality. I go to Scribner and everything seems to run slower. The 05 GTs run 14.5 along with the SRT4s and WRXs. 2004 GTOs run 13.7 to 13.9 on the same track. Sorry. I did see an impressive 03/4 Mach 1 that ran a little better. Of course, it could be the drivers.

    Well, 05GTs were running 14.5 or higher so I'd say the Mach1 was pretty quick at 13.6 for the mods he had. Srt4s were around 14.5 also. GTOs 14. Track sucked...long lines w/heat soak. There was a 10 sec pickup that was pretty impressive.

    I have seen many GTOs that were timing better than the 05 GT and Mach 1, but I did see an impressive Mach 1 that did a 13.6...said all he had was a K&N filter. Thats pretty good.
