Tryin to fit subwoofers in the trunk.

Hell, man, it's only been VERY recently that glass has been broken by the specialized SPL machines. The jury is still out on it. It's usually a stress fracture that splits totally out when the glass flexes from SPL. You WON'T, and I mean WON'T get enough pressure inside a legally driveable...

    Ground

Honestly, I'd check your factory wiring at the battery. Make sure everything is clean and tight. That car should be able to handle 4x what you have in it bone stock. In my '02 I ran >3000RMS (legitimately) with the factory charging system. A cap will only be a temporary band-aid if there is...

Rattle in rear end from loose trunk shocks - Anyone else?

Actually, I found my exhaust rattle mentioned earlier in the thread. The driver's side is pushed slightly towards the rear of the car. This allows the hanger to vibrate just a bit against the bracket on the car. Unfortunately, I'll have to take it somewhere to get fixed. I don't fit under...

MAC SS on Jenns05Stang > Sex

Most of you guys are far too young. I'll show her how it's done. :P On topic: Congrats on getting the sound, Jenn. I had a moderator for a local board talking about how she hated the MAC Prochamber- just on-and-on. Then tell me how much she loves the sound of my exhaust. That was an...

Rattle in the doors and THE fix!!!!!

When you pull off that panel, it's held in by a plastic guide "post" and a press-fit clip. Use a small screwdriver to "widen" that clip (bend the tabs out just a bit farther). If you have some old latex paint sitting around, a couple of coats on the post piece (to thicken it slightly) will...

Rattle in the doors and THE fix!!!!!

I have also made judicious use of plain 'ol sponges to fix rattling panels. I bought a boatload of cheap sponges as the Dollar Tree (10 for $1) and cut/stuffed them into the crevices behind plastic panels. It's nearly weightless, and the extra pressure prevents plastic-on-plastic vibration and...

Infinity Sub - Kind of working

It sounds like a broken tinsel lead if I'm reading your descriptions correctly. Should be easy to re-solder if it's close to the terminal. If not, replace the woofer because it will cost too much to have it fixed.

Rattle in rear end from loose trunk shocks - Anyone else?

Question, if this would still be considered On Topic: How do I test/isolate for the muffler baffles? Also, I wrapped a couple of small pieces of silicone tubing around my trunk shocks just to see if they were rattling against anything when closed. No problems on mine.

Rattle in rear end from loose trunk shocks - Anyone else?

God I hope not. I've already had horrible service from MRT with this axle-back. If I can find that's what it is, I'll pull it off and go with something else. But, yeah, it's usually when it's cold (not everytime I start it), or when I do a warm start, like after being in a store for 1/2 hour...

How to run new door speaker wire?

The factory wiring is sufficient. "High-end" wiring is all marketing anyway. When you use all the factory wire, it'll be roughly 12ga to the 8's, and 16 or 18 to the highs. That should be sufficient. If you must run new wire, reach DEEP in behind the dash, about 2 inches above where it looks...

BIGGEST TIRE SIZE ON A 20 inch RIM

You can fit a 315/35, but they're very tall. There are 345/25's mad e that are the correct diameter, but I don't know if they'll fit in the wheel wells. You'll also need at LEAST 11.5" wide wheels.

    JL audio

JL makes VERY good audio equipment, but you can do better for less money. They have brand recognition going for them. That said, if you don't mind spending the cash, you will be happy with any product that JL puts its moniker on.

Rattle in rear end from loose trunk shocks - Anyone else?

Ok, I noticed those. I thought you found something with the shock mounts (suspension). My rattle almost seems like the exhaust pipes hitting the floorpan occasionally. Not a banging, but a rattle/slow buzz. I can't find the source yet, but others have heard it.

Rattle in rear end from loose trunk shocks - Anyone else?

Jenn, Can I see a pic of where you think the sound may be coming from? I spent 2.5 hours under my car Saturday night looking for where a rattle may intermittently be coming from (no small task, I'm 6'4 240#). I found NOTHING. :banghead:

I wonder if that is the same noise I've been chasing? I still feel mine is a poorly adjusted tailpipe, somewhere. I cannot find it, though.

Ford GT wheel fitment and pics request!

20's are about the best fit for this car. A 20x11.5 rear with the 345/25 tire would be ideal for me. Now, if I could just afford to get those wheels made.
