What did you do to your classic Mustang today?

The body shop where I had it painted did it. They will warranty it when I get it out of storage in the spring. More of an inconvenience than anything. Car never sees rain, but I do want to wash it once a year.....LOL!

List of questions for a 69 Mustang

Best bang for the buck for you would probably be a crate motor in the 393/408 variety which is based off the 351w platform. They are widely available, fit nicely in your chassis, and are cheaper than Clevelands or big blocks on a HP per dollar scale.

What did you do to your classic Mustang today?

Well, I washed my car for the first time in literally ten years yesterday and my brand new back windshield leaks.

What did you do to your classic Mustang today?

I am happy to say that after a complete summer of working on the car every day, I will mostly be driving it from this point forward.

    STA Terminal...6 volts output, why?

Or you could use another source for 12v, like most people seem to do. Make sure to use any source that is 12v with the key on, but 0v with the key off. The factory uses the alternator source because it only provides voltage when the car is actually running. This is to prevent the choke from...

    STA Terminal...6 volts output, why?

Is the STA terminal supposed to deliver 12v? I know many factory electric choke equipped vehicle in later years were wired from the alternator, and the factory choke don't require 12, something like 6-8 if I remember correctly. I think many people have problems with this when using a holley and...

    351W Stroker vs 390

Speaking of Shelby's, I've known some vintage racers at Road America that "upgraded" from 289 cobras to 427 cobras, and in every case they got slower. These are good drivers that know their cars. Yes, you can make big blocks handle pretty damn well, but the weight distribution in our long nosed...

    393 stroker, chose of intake

Agree, I run an RPM non air-gap version. Air gap will hit the hood.

393 stroker, stock oil or aftermarket high volume

I am using the Milodon version of the same pan. It also doesn't sit any lower, and the dipstick through the timing cover still works. I am not a fan of high volume oil pumps, per se. Your oil passage clearances are what they are, and stock oil pumps do fine. Anything pumped beyond what your...

    2.25 or 2.5 inch exhaust.

These arguments can go on for days. All I am gonna say is that if you aren't getting mandrel bent pipes, a 2.5" system is actually closer to 2" because of the level of crush in the bends. I am running 2.5" mandrel on a 450hp 393. It's good enough.

    I don't know why....

Ugh. I love this: "The driver and passenger windows will need to be installed." Yes, after you have them custom made.

Front: 225/60r15 on 15x7 rims Rear: 255/60r15 on 15 x 8 rims. Back spacing is the same as all the repro magnums out there. Thanks!

Clutch fan, new shroud, doesn't fit!

The 351 engine in my 69 also sits chronically low. The radiator, which is the second 24" one I have had, basically sits on the frame. I have had to cut out the bottom of the last two shrouds I have had. I have a 16.5" flex fan, and it comes within a whisker of actually hitting the tranny cooler...

    Is It Just Me Or...

I have dealt with Paul and he is good. Some of their stuff is good, some is pretty bad.

    That would be copyright infringement.

    Price on a 1970 Mach 1

Yup, the car needs pretty much everything. Not sure why people thinks mileage is relevant when the car needs everything.

    scanner connection location

Should be an OBDII port under the dash, is that is what you are referring too. You will probably get more response in some other section than the "classic" section.
