    Lift is not important, duration and overlap is. To run power brakes, a minimum of 12lbs vacuum is a good place to be. Stall converter is variable. Lopey cams can work with stock stall converters to varying degrees of effectiveness. It's not black and white.

    I am sure it is all your bearing clearances. The only cure is a complete rebuild, if you want to do it right. You have enough oil pressure for now.

    Both 289 and 302 share the same bore. Your biggest issue will be whether the valves hit the pistons.

    If you already have the heads off, just get a whole new spring set and replace the bent valve. A machine shop should check the head out to make sure there is no more damage.

    There is one Mustang Restoration handbook on the market, but it is ancient. It's good but dated information, but the photos are black and white without very good reproduction. Buy one out of the Amazon shops used and save money.

    Traditionally a reverse only situation is due to low pump pressure, which can usually be traced to hardened or leaking seals. It's always a good idea to hang a gauge and get pressures before disassembly.

    Coil spring compressor

    There is a version that is a long plate that goes over the top of the shock tower instead of the top set of hooks. It works very well for smaller top openings like in Mavericks, and in applications where the control arm will be removed.
