    Sounds to me like tired springs and maybe a little bit of wear on the rear bushings. If you are looking at spending $1500 then you can save some good money with just new springs and good replacement bushings in the rear - heck change the upper and lower arms as well and still come out cheaper...

    Looks like an alignment problem since the belt is frayed on the edge. You running the stock harmonic balancer? Have you inspected it to see if it is separating? This is the most common reason I have seen for misalignment.

    A bad race or bearing on the output shaft of a transmission should exhibit either play or an abnormal feel in rotation. Put the trans in neutral and put the yoke in the trans and spin it. Does it spin smoothly?

    I am curious. No play, no crack, yoke clean and still a leak? I would suspect a bad rear seal or damage to it during install. If you get it crooked during the install you can oval it but unless it was very crooked it should go back to round upon install. I would try another seal.
