    Timing advance

2 Points that I didn't see addressed... You use ported vacum, otherwise you'd get maximum advance at idle which would not be good You're on the right track by focusing on the total advance rather than initial. If you run into problems with not enough vacume at idle, you may need to...

Mustang II in Ford´s 2005 Commercial!!!

I watched it last night. Cool, and the shot is very flattering. makes the car look awesome ! That commercial alone may cause a huge change of attitude toward the II

    Holley 600 on a 77 302

Wow, Someone actually understands a power valve ! I'm impressed. But doesn't the powervalve run off venturi vacum ? The secondaries certaintly do. If so, what will manifold vacum tell you ? But you've got my attention !

    Holle7 600 on a 302

Well... Lots of homework for the weekend ! - As for the Accellerater pump tollerance, the Holley manual gives a proceedure to adjust the screw that actuates the pump lever. I was refering to the clearance between that screw head & the lever. - Plugs - I'll check on the weekend -...

    Holle7 600 on a 302

Guy's, I posted this on the MII forum but didn't have much luck, I thought their might be some Carb Guru's here.... This summer I installed a holley 600 and manifold off an ~83 into my 77, which has an otherwize stock 302. (It's OK, my other car is a '72! ) it's all running fine (even...

    Holley 600 on a 77 302

Maybe... I might try a stiffer spring, but I'd expect that effect when you stomp on it, not for gradual accelleration. Any opinion ?

    Holley 600 on a 77 302

Guy's, This summer I installed a holley 600 and manifold off an ~83 into my 77, which has an otherwize stock 302. it's all running fine (even the automatic choke !) except for one little thing. If I'm cruising at about 60, and then just touch the gas, it will balk then go. It's...

    Newer seats

I made the swap. It's nice to have reclining seates. They sit a bit further forward though, and being a bigg goon, that''s a problem. I'll probably take them outthis winter and come up with some sort of mod.

Car still stalling when put in gear?

I know it's to obvious , but it sure sound like it's sucking air. Try spraying carb cleaner around the base of the carb and the rear, as well as anywhere you're vacum lines go. Also check your PCV Valve.

    69 Winsor heads on a 77

Thanks Guy's, I've been out of town and am just getting this now. From what you've said, I may require new stock rods for my 302, as the heads hvae been rebuilt, and have new, stock valves, so any wear on the rods may be an issue. On the other hand, it''s bound to be tigher than it is as...

    69 Winsor heads on a 77

Guy's, There has been a ton of discussion on this over the past couple of years. I'm gearing up for it, and have read through all the old posts I could find, but I'm down to two questions. - The manual says that with the hydraulic lifters if you're outside a certain tollerance...

    Vacum Secondaries on Holley 600 in a 77 '2

On my way home last night, I stopped by the speed shop and bought a Holley spring kit, and a neat replacement top for the solenoid that allows you to change the spring without taking off the choke and solenoid. I'll let you know monday what I learn.

    Vacum Secondaries on Holley 600 in a 77 '2

So.. you all, understand that this is not manifold or spark vacum, but a separate vent/port that draws venturi vacum from about halfway up the venturi. I understand the concept of a lighter spring, but this is an otherwise stock '77 302, with a stock 4160 from an 83 302. Should the Cam/...

    Vacum Secondaries on Holley 600 in a 77 '2

Done all that, except for the switch. I with the throttle open I can move the secondaries. with the solenoid off I can suck on it to make it move. (don't get any ideas ;^)) I was thinking about puting a little bolt in the linkage so they are forced to open and see if I can tell the...

    Vacum Secondaries on Holley 600 in a 77 '2

This weekend, I put a 4bbl carb/manifold from an 83 mustang into my 2. Everything seems to be working OK, except I'm not convinced the vacum secondaries are opening. They're certaintly not if I just rev the engine in the shop. If I remove the solenoid from the Carb, I can't sense any...
