    dumb question.... 86 4cyl's

My '86 coupe started life as a 4 banger (it was carbed.) It's a good idea to have a donor car for a v8 efi swap. Your best bet is finding a wrecked '86 5.0 for a donor, later year cars can be used but it's a little easier this way.

    1/4 window swap.

You may have to trim your interior panels so the window will fit. I know when you "update" the windows on a 4 eye car it leaves a large gap between the window & panel, so I would think that going the other way would cause the opposite to happen.

    I Am Legend.

The Omega Man is a far better film, I am Legend is a turd. Can't believe I wasted a DVD on the thing, I flung it in the trash.

Someone finally made them 4lug to 5 lug adapters for the fox.

Man I need to start selling parts on ebay! I gave $20 for axles & $45 for a pair of spindles with the rotors & calipers from a local yard. I've bought two sets of spindles from him for that price, I had to pull them though.

    Shift knob shopping...

You can get that same knob from industrial catalogs (mcmaster carr, MSC, etc.) for around half that. I can't see paying $40 or more for a damn shift knob. I won a cue ball off of ebay for $3 shipped & I'm going to put an insert in it.

    Diecast 93 Mustang Coupe

Maisto makes a 1/64 1993 Cobra, it's kind of blinged out but it's a start. I have the green one but I have seen other colors as well. Hot Wheels made a 79 Mustang in several different paint schemes (one being a Cobra) years ago but they can still be found.

Does a different offset change the look of a rim?

I've seen cast wheels made, they cast a "blank" wheel that has an extra thick mounting surface without any holes in it, it is machined to the desired backspacing, the lug holes are drilled to whatever pattern, and then the wheel is gets whatever finish it's going to get on it. If you look at...

    motive or ford gears

Ford gears are Motive gears. Have been for a few years now. Before that they were made by Richmond I think.

Does a different offset change the look of a rim?

I think what 9 deuce is getting at is that there is only one casting of the wheel, the mounting pad is machined to achieve the desired offset. The holes are then drilled and the wheels strength is not affected. There are thousands of wheels made this way every day and changing the offset...

Going to carb from efi, best way to do fuel setup

Just a thought, the reason I thought of it is because a friend of mine is running the same pump as I am (a1000) & he is carbed & I am EFI.

Going to carb from efi, best way to do fuel setup

Could you keep the stock pump and run a return style regulator, or would that be too hard on the pump?

    Carbon Fiber Hoods???

Most of the carbon fiber hoods out there are not all carbon fiber & aren't any lighter than a typical fiberglass hood. They take a glass hood and bond a layer of CF on top of it. A true all CF hood is very expensive.

    S197 wheel fitment, IRS Questions...

89gtstalker those wheels are 8" wide with 5.72 b.s. I have a 17x9" with 275/40-17 with 6.42 b.s.. I had to roll the crap out of the fenders, luckily my car's not painted. Here's a straight on shot from the rear:

    balljoint not budging!!!

To get balljoint loose from the spindle I back the castle nut almost all the way off and let the suspension droop. A few good whacks on the spindle should bust it loose. Then jack up the control arm to remove the castle nut. To remove the balljoint from the control arm I've beat it out with a...

Has anyone here ever made their own instrument cluster?

Not anything current, my car is buried in the garage, lol. Here are some after I put it in: Trial fitting, didn't have any holes drilled for the smaller gauges yet. Made a piece for the pass. side too. Console isn't in yet, but the cluster is wired up. I need to find some good a/c...

Has anyone here ever made their own instrument cluster?

Yup, I had to move the smaller gauges out a little bit to clear the 5" tach & speedo. That's why I glued the carbon fiber over it, to cover up the holes & to have some support with the new gauges.
