    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

I love Summit and they are very good to me but I bought this stuff over 18 months ago so I doubt they'll take it back. As for Jegs, they have horrible customer service, lol. I ordered the UPR setup but I'm just concerned why they have the rack bolts slightly off. I don't understand why they...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

Actually you are wrong. In respect to the factory K-member I had the rims pushed out an inch and was running 245/45/17s with lowering springs and they never rubbed. I don't know how that changes with a K-member since they quote these things for 79-95, and I don't believe the suspension is...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

Did you bolt it in and have a clearance problem with the rims and the wheel well? I'm looking at the K-member and it looks like I can hack at it in a couple spots and move it make. I'm not sure how this will affect the mounting of the motor though. Its a big block and its already installed in...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

Are you serious?? I'm gonna have to junk the whole suspension and put all the old stuff back then. Thats horsecrap!! The coilovers arent even straight up and down, they are kicked forward at an angle. My father in law said that doesnt look right. On top of that, the coilovers hit my rims...

    QA1 coilover, K-member suspension problems!!!

I purchased a QA1 tubular K-member, coilover conversion and control arms from Summit Racing, and I'm having clearance issues now. I've double checked the part numbers I ordered and everything checks out. The problem is that my rims are pushed way forward and I can barely turn my steering wheel...

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

The cam I'm running is a Comp hydraulic, 230/236, .562/.565, 110 lobe sep.

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

Are the pics still working for you all? They don't show when I look at the thread. Also, sorry I havent posted anything lately. I've been busy finishing up this exhaust. Its all mocked up, and I've been finishing the welding. I'll have it all done this weekend. I've also ordered and...

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

Actually, I've been looking and I can't find any hydro setups for these cars. I'm actually surprised. I did find a site where Cobra kit car guys who use fox body clutch setups convert to hydraulic but it requires fabbing up the under dash linkage.

Anyone want to watch my custom exhaust build?? PICS

I love the comment about this build being easy, lol. Thats a good one, Mav! I got started on things tonight and got pretty far. I forgot to bring the camera but everything to the X-pipe is tacked up. While I have it out to finish all the welds I'll take pics. It looks like its going to take...

Anyone want to watch my custom exhaust build?? PICS

I'm going to have 6 combined inches of mandrel bent plumbing with high-flow cats, X-pipe, and flowmaster 40 series mufflers all attached to midlength headers. I seriously doubt I need to worry about restriction. More importantly, just because I'm building a Mustang doesn't mean I have the...

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

I have to admit, if I had done this before I would have used a hydraulic clutch setup because then you can use a standard toploader bellhousing instead of getting a special one that allows the use of a clutch cable. Also, a hydro setup would mount behind the fork so clearance wouldnt be an...

Anyone want to watch my custom exhaust build?? PICS

I have to admit though, the pipes and mufflers have to go in just right because there are quite a few close tolerance spots. The mufflers are really close to the body and the driveshaft, and the tailpipes have to be just right to avoid the suspension and the body.

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

This is the original transmission crossmember being used with the big block and TKO600 5-speed. The bolts are slightly farther back, but there is still some room left over in the slots. There are two positions on the K-member and I used the forward slots on the engine mount brackets. I'm not...

Also, some pics of the driveshaft loop installed and done. Note the spacers they provide in the kit to make up for the gaps created by the uneven floor pan. [url=http://www.freeimagehosting.net/][/url

I'm throwing in some more pics of the headers and clearances so let me know if that helps at all.

Anyone want to watch my custom exhaust build?? PICS

Ok, exhaust parts finally came in the mail today from Summit Racing. I'm still waiting for the prebent mandrel piece and cats from the Ebay seller. What I did tonight was piece it all together to check fitment, and then I began to install the parts. I won't get great pictures because I have...

I had to massage the driver side header for the clutch cable and then I wrapped the cable with a spark plug heat resistant boot where it passed by the header. I'll get some pics for you.

Unlike Bigfoot, BBF and 5-speed DO exist!

The price really depends on how crazy you want to go. I really hate using old nasty stuff so I usually go all out and go overkill so I know the thing will run and be durable. I pretty much bought name brand from Summit and the major suppliers on Ebay. I don't know if the stick will work...
