New 1/64 Scale Fox Body Diecast - NOTCHBACKS!

I'm mostly a lurker, but I have that red LX GMP diecast. The detais are incredible....there are little hatch struts when you open it, an actually hood prop rod, individual plug wires and negative and positive wires for the relocated battery. It is an "89 LX Drag Car"

    5.0 Rods

Any idea on a cost of that? I can get a reground crank with matching bearings on eBay for $150 plus shipping. I'm not building a drag motor, but figure if I'm in here might as well do it once and make it last.

    5.0 Rods

I have an 86 5.0 out of a Grand Marquise that I want to rebuild to throw in my LX. I plan on getting a rebuild kit from summit with the hyperutetic pistons. Can I reuse my stock rods? Here is the link to the rebuild kit.....I need to get the block to a machine shop so they can measure it up...

I have a Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and a Holley 600cfm 4bbl....would that work out fine, or at least until I could afford to upgrade the carb?

    5.0 Questions

Bumping my old thread here with a couple more questions. I took the 86 motor apart, the crank has some nasty grooves worn in to it. I have a crank in nice shape, but it's out of a 79 302(or it could be an 80 but I think it's a 79 since is weighted differently then the 86). Can I use the 79...

    Also, wouldn't a gear drive from a 351 fit a 302?

Maybe you burned the oil off the tips by letting it run?

    5.0 Questions

Well I'm pretty much a lurker, I never really post but now I have a reason to. I got a 5.0 out of a Grand Marquise with low oil pressure for free. I'm fairly sure it is out of an 87, but being it is out of a Grand Marquise and not a Mustang it doesn't have forged pistons, does it? I haven't...

    Anyone running these wheels?

I have American Racing Outlaw IIs which are similar minus the holes around the rim. I like the looks of them though and for 95 bucks each, you can't go wrong even if you just end up using them as track wheels.

    Wow!

    I don't see a problem with the heat...maybe it's because I don't get much.

    WHOO!!!

That's partially why I didn't like 90% of the cars on that show Overhaulin, because everyone had 20" rims that killed it. I'd buy that, switch the rims to some 03 10th anniversarys and drive it.

    Car Fax Please!

Could someone run a car fax for me by chance? I found a 88 GT with a rebuilt title and I want to find out why it got it. vin# 1FABP42EXJF189099

    What matches?

I think if you got the last one and polished the lip that would be pretty bad ass looking for a budget wheel. I may be looking at that last one you have in the near future for a temporary wheel...
